Just split a bottle of Duvel with my cousin, he loved it. Says it's the best beer he's ever had and was raving about it's bready, fruity character and how it improved as it warmed. Really made me feel good to share good beer with good people. Anyone had any similar experiences lately? Who do you like sharing beer with?
I started sharing beer with family a long while back and have always enjoyed their reactions to the good beer I introduced them to. Over a few years I converted my aunt (a big wine lover) to a craft beer fan. She does not drink wine anymore now because she found beer to be so much better and more flavorful she says. Now we talk about Belgian beers and it is great!!
Shared a bottle of Samuel Smith Imperial Stout with my older cousin who is a die hard bud light platinum drinker. He loved it and when he does drink he comes by my store and buys five at a time, he's just branching out to other stouts and surprisingly has great taste. Thanks to me of course
A few of my co-workers are craft beer guys, and we always share whenever any of us go out of town, or make an online purchase or trade for something cool, I shared a Heady with a couple of them a while ago, it was a lot better than drinking it alone
The majority of my family are non drinkers with the exception of my wife. She prefers Bud Light but will occasionally try what I am drinking and let me know what she thinks. I do have a drinking buddy and fellow BA.....LAND_MINE.......Cheers !!
I have two buddies that get together with me about five times each year for the sole purpose of sharing our newly acquired and cellared craft beers. We just did this last Friday night. One of my buddies brought a bottle of Pliny and a can of Heady. It was my first time with each one and they did not disappoint. Other beers shared that night was a half growler of a blueberry ale from Dark Horse, Short's Freedom of '78, KBS, Saturn and Dark Horse BBPt5. We also sampled a Crown Royal rye and killed the last half of a Stagg Jr. bottle. Kind of hard not to be happy with a night of drinking like that. The host always puts out a nice spread as well. I have a big smoker so I usually smoke up some ribs, pulled pork or brisket and everyone will bring a dish to pass.
