Can anyone recommend a place to get some good beer near the state park? I'm looking for stores and restaurants. Going to be camping with the family this weekend and looking to stock the cooler with some great Wisconsin brews and maybe enjoy a dinner in Sheboygan. Thanks, y'all.

Jake's Liquor has a great selection on the South side of Sheboygan. Woodlake Market in Kohler has good WI beer as well. There is also a Festival Foods that has a good beer selection too. You'll be able to get lots of good locals at any one of those.

2019 South Business Drive, Sheboygan (Jake's Liquor)

    795 Woodlake Road, Kohler (Woodlake)

595 S Taylor Drive, Sheboygan (Festival)

For restaurants The 8th Street Ale Haus has a nice draft list. Far and away the best in the area. The Horse & Plow at the American Club usually has some nice stuff as well. Hops Haven is a nice bar that houses 3 Sheeps Brewing. Nothing special on tap there, but it has a cool atmosphere and they should have all the 3 Sheeps beer on tap. There's also a restaurant that operates out of the building.

I second the above recommendations for beer shopping. Word of caution with Jake's. I've shopped there a few times and there seems to be a lot of old product on the shelves. So keep that in mind.

Jake's does have some old product laying around, I think it's typically the things they choose to over price. My buddy found some Ten Fidy from 2010 last week. Nonetheless, they still have an excellent selection.

Yeah, stopped in Sheboygan this past Sunday for some brats and found almost the whole damn town closed. Went by Jake's and decided to stop in based on the craft beer signs to find a hell of a selection but some interesting pricing (gouging in some cases) and some stuff that was extremely old.

Dude has at least 12 cases of Hopslam left, along with a few of Double Trouble and Illumination. A lot of CW BB Stout that was priced normally, but Peruvian Morning, BB Cherry Stout, and BB BW were all 5 bucks per bottle. Oh, also had a shitload of Frangelic for 30 per.....HA! All in all, a good stop and I picked up a few gems that I either can't get in Chicago, or have been long sold out.

Man, you weren't kidding about the hopslam--aside from the 15 or so on the floor for $16.49, there were more in the cooler! Sttill, they did have a good selection with some interesting imports.

Thanks again to everybody for the tips. We had a great time.
