Haven't had the wine barrel version, but I agree. Maybe it's because, for me, it's the least sourish sour they make.

So for limited releases we've got two IPAs (both originally made for HopCat oddly enough), a DIPA, a Shandy, a sour, a Gose, and a golden fruit ale. Would've liked to trade out an IPA for maybe a Kolsch or pilsner but otherwise a pretty good mix. Very interested to try Internet Dating.

 

Pretty pumped about Chief Hopper returning. Also Treefer Madness first time in bottles is great!

 

Here's something interesting: if you look at the release schedule, Cat Grass is listed as being available in cans and kegs, but not bottles. Maybe we'll be seeing the pint cans only this year.

 

Either way I’m excited for this one - it’s been solid since inception!!!

 

So with the new additions to the release schedule, I emailed Short's to see if there was any word coming on new variety packs. This year they're supposed to shake them up and do some souped-up ones.

They'll be announcing them on the website but they won't be coming regularly:

 

Hopefully some old favorites make the variety packs. I'd love some Aorta Ale, Bludgeon yer Eye, Peaches and Cream, I could go on and on!

 

Peaches would be great, I could see that one making it. The two I heard that were possible Evil Urges and Ectoplasmo.

 

I am a big fan of the variety packs, but I noticed a lot of grocery stores have a hard time moving them, so I can understand why they'll be doing less this year.

I wouldn't mind if they go back to 3 seasonal packs plus Hoppy Holidays for the foreseeable future

Another High-octane milestone release, clocking in at 14.20%. Short's is going in for the Brut IPAs.

Got this info from the Short's Report which did not include a specific release date.

 

I saw a store in Kalamazoo post it on Facebook as being in the store today.

 

Guess who's back? It's another NEW BEER UP!

ControversiALE will be sticking around till May, so there's plenty of time to enjoy a few of these.

 

Did they mention the format? I'm assuming bombers but the release schedule only says bottles and kegs.

My store had it today too...... 6-packs of bottles. I went looking for Woodmaster but didn't find it, so being disappointed, walked out with nothing. I'll have to check the date again for its release.

Edit: The post #15 above says Woodmaster was to be released late January and early February. Has anyone seen it yet?

 

Woodmaster is all over the Lansing area.

 

Six pack Batch makes me happy. Also, Woodmaster is in Livonia. If it's out my way usually you should have it already.

 

I should have asked at my store while I was there; it must be gone already. I have a couple other places to look.

 

Meijer in Holland had it two days ago.
