Plus, fake mustaches and outfit changes.
True, can't rule out people pulling a Bobby Valentine.
I bet those are good paydays for them.
I want to know what happened to Fermier day?! It was low-key one of the best days of the year. Last one I remember was 2019.
I wasn't thinking about SP at all today. Very busy work day. Finished a long meeting. Checked my phone for the first time in a while, the IG notification popped up while I was doing that, saw the bottle in the preview of the notification. Knew I was screwed as I didn't have it pulled up, wasn't logged in, nor did I have my Shop Pay code front loaded. I was shocked when I was able to do all those things, enter the Shop Pay code, make sure it didn't default to shipping on me (that happened for me on Forever Darkness for my first time ever) and still get through. Finally broke through after a long drought on the fast finger release. Huzzah.
I got burned on the default to shipping thing today - so frustrating - but that part is on me - I knew that from prior releases - IDIOTA!
New beer offered to LC today - Quince
As with Satsuma and Yuzu, we used a very delicate base to allow this extremely aromatic fruit to shine. Quince started as a Lagerbier, similar to the base of Sunsets, which we then finished in oak with our Side Project mixed culture. Once mature, we allowed it to re-ferment on Illinois-grown Quince (sourced by LC member Will Bresnahan!) from the 2020 and 2021 harvests. This beer started life in 2020 and then became a blend of both harvests providing the depth and complexity only found with time from the older thread and then the explosive green apple jolly rancher and vibrant aromatics from the youthful fruit expression of the younger thread.
Lots of IG story posts (or is it pages? chapters?) about furniture that keep referencing a new space. Anyone know what that's about? Did they expand the brewery seating area?
I believe it’s for the new space across the street from the brewery. The one the are sharing with Pizza Champ
That on-site BA Coco Vibes
And ba ambiente, damn on Mother’s Day of all times lol
excited to hear how bottles are doing. I had it a few months ago and it was oxidized, tho no idea if that’s an off bottle or not
have to imagine that BA CV is on its last leg.
Yup. No way I’m going to pay (likely) $100+ for a 3.25 year old coconut stout
Yeah, this does not move the needle for me. For me to abandon my wife on Mother's day it would have to be an IP release or something. I'm only playing the bad husband card for something crazy..
saw they had 2020 CSV on-site this weekend too. it’s expired stout weekend at SP!
I’m gonna need them to keep the single farm series in the store year round. Holy shit this is crushable.
How much was the coconut vibes? And if you had one how was it?
had SF Motueka today. amazing. hope this series continues with great frequency.
And they stay $20
IP stout release 5/21
quite the mysterious yet intriguing post from the brewery’s ig this morning.
let the guessing game begin!
(insert crying Jordan meme)
Naturally I'm not flying in until the 22nd. UGH
Wow, that's a lot of notice on a stout
that’s a lot of heads up notice for a BA stout release. almost has to be something they have a lot of..
BA Coconut71noche Lassi Mudcake Stout
Rye BBT? Think it's been bottled for a bit now hasn't it?
Otherwise... probably coco vibes or something?
Specifically said BA Stout so not regular Coco Vibes. Doubt it is BA Coco. Rye BBT if they made enough, maybe. BA Ambiente, maybe. Could be something else, too.
Damn. Super tempting to book a hotel and visit. Never been to a SP event.
EDIT: Seemed like people had BA Ambiente b2 at The Invitational..? Has this seen a public release...?
If it's Rye BBT I would think LC members would know beforehand since they are likely to get a bottle but Shared beers don't always go to members so if it's still a mystery the day before I would think there's a chance it's a Vibes of some sort.
Calling this an event is probably stretching what qualifies as an event.
Eh, splitting hairs, but I've never been to SP during anything other than a regular day. No bottle shares in line where I am....
i agree. i was thinking it almost has to be a Shared BA stout with that much notice. so BA Ambiente was the obvious choice.
only thing that makes me think Rye BBT is that it would be a perfect opportunity to pull b1 Rye BBT plus older BBTs from “the library”?
typically the BA collabs are too limited to get this much heads up.
BA Ambiente just doesn't seem BIG enough for this kind of announcement.
My first thought was BA Coco with the surprise on-site bottles last week....that kind of easter egg seems like an SP move.
Obviously it’s BA Peanut Butter Vibes
my guess is ba ambiente b2 since that was previewed at invitational
BIG enough in this context is number of bottles to go around. not untappd ratings, secondary trade values or uber-hype.
funny nobody has mentioned the blog post stating it’s a package with BdP, OdB, SFM and pizza and wings from the new Shared / Pizza Champ joint.
I wish they would just say what it was. All the secrecy gets a bit old at a point.
LC is still in the ordering window for Quince. If they continue the pacing that started with the ordering/pickup shift a month ago, then the next email would be tomorrow or Wednesday, with pickup starting the following Friday. And the day after that is 5/21. So RBBT is on the table.
