also, i would take another blend of regular old white label SdF any day too. shame that beer doesn’t get release every year.
i get that they brew SdF for a myriad of other beers (fruited Ferms, Oude, Tete) but i would take white label SdF every other year over AdF every year. now they did do Fermier v21 last year and that was really good but also the same cost for half the volume.
At this point I’m half expecting to find out what’s releasing Saturday when they open on Saturday Actually https://www.sideprojectbrewing.com/blogs/news/barrel-aged-ambiente-2022
Nice tidbit in there if anyone didn’t read the entire post and are attending… “In addition to the on-site BA Ambiente bottles, the Brewery Tasting Room will have limited amounts of 2019 & 2021 Beer : Barrel : Time bottles for on-site enjoyment and The Side Project Cellar will have limited amounts of 2018 & 2020 Beer : Barrel : Time bottles for on-site enjoyment!”
i do like how they’re hyping it up on the blog. that said, i think for a lot of folks BA Ambiente b1 was kind of let down. maybe too many of us were expecting something more reminiscent of older BA Abraxas which this blend sounds a lot more like what they’re going for here.
I didn’t hate either batch, but both BA and regular blends of Ambiente were just ok to me. I wanted to love them, but just didn’t. Out of the shared stouts, it’s probably my least favorite. Good, but I’m no longer sad about being out of town this weekend lol
I really liked b1, and enjoyed the new batch at the Invitational so definitely looking forward to this. I'm really just thankful it's not a banana stout
Luckily I think it was bottled before they could fill 375s with Stout! also there was pics of 750s getting the rye bbt wax I wanna say
I think adjunct stouts this way are polarizing, which works out better for use trying to trade for one haha. I guess they couldn’t cuz it goes against what b.b.t stands for. It would have been a derivation yea? Man I’d never get to try it if they called it either lol. Atleast now there’s still hope
Releasing BA Ambiente on the same weekend that the BA Abraxas drawing happens feels like it can't be a coincidence.
I think when they announced BA Ambi the "potential" line went from 300-400 (for something like Rye BBT) to 100-150 for BA Ambiente. And they are 100% doing this intentionally to overlap with BA Abraxas, just like they did for the first release.
I bet this ends up being 2pp $50/bottle from the start and options to cycle through the line again. Or maybe even no limits after first pass. I am not sure why BA Ambiente is so polarizing, but I don't think people show up to get rained on for it... I am all the happier. I loved this beer at the invitational and am hopeful to get a couple bottles.
i dunno, maybe for the line share i guess? i think more would be willing to make the drive for bbt than they would for ba ambi
like the last few releases i bet it will go up much higher than that. i wouldnt be surprised if its 4pp like bubble wrap. think about this, bubble wrap did not sell out right away and crowds were already going there for the taplist and on-site bottles. this event is purely from the release alone. fingers crossed lol, at 4pp i might be able to trade for one!
feel like folks will already be there for the on-site options so why not at least get one bottle, right?
My damn skid plate came loose on my car and was scraping like hell on the interstate in the middle of nowhere Tennessee. Luckily I randomly had some thin rope to MacGyver that shit until I could get to a hardware store for zip ties. That first beer is gonna taste so good now.
