THE dry-hopped Marietta Ave is back on at the brewery

 

Damn, I’m dumb. Shouldn’t have given that one up.

 

Guess I’m drinking Sunsets tomorrow, if it’s still there.

 

The other week they were tasting unlabeled bottles of a bourbon barrel version and a rye barrel version, no adjuncts. The base is a rye heavy grain bill. Seems like it’s done, but will it be two separate beers? Adjuncts? I think we will find out soon!

 

Would be cool to have 2, that makes the most sense since they seem to already be bottles separately. I just hope they both get released

If it took less time to make and production is way up why is the price of this bottle still sky high

 

Interesting that Tete and Anabasis both took a year off from the wax treatment and now they're back to using it. As long as they include the pull tab and I don't have to break a sweat to open it I like the look.

 

I’m kind of over waxing bottles. It does nothing but annoy me at this point

 

The foil wrap thing on Tete v19 really grew on me the more bottles I opened. My success rate on opening SP wax jobs is not great.

 

I feel the same. They could label the bottles with duct tape and sharpie and I wouldn’t care at this point.

For years there has been a running joke that no one seems to enjoy Tete (or at least chases it? Trades for it?) as much as @ewwiccc . Also, somehow he fondled Corey’s bits, and got to be an LC member from CA.

 

last years tete email showed wax on the bottle and we all know how that ended up. I expect similar this year

 

i believe he commented to someone bitching on ig about no wax and said “we just ran out of time! next vintage will be waxed.” or something along those lines.

for what it’s worth, the emails / web shop showed most recent Anabasis without wax and it was waxed so you never know by the computer imaged pictures.

 

at any rate, those new caps probably work better than any wax job.

I swear I remember liking it, but my Untapped review was not kind. Too much lime.

 

same here. well, not on the remembering, but i wanted to like this beer as i pretty much dig all the shared lagers but this one was not for me. that said, i think there may have been a little can variation or maybe sitting on them (in the fridge of course) helped because one can i had was just downright salty and bitter and one was more balanced. the other 2 were kind of in between.

 

My, isn't it odd how fond label associations of movie memories can trick the mind.

 

No kidding.

Now, if they brew Blue Hooped Angel Wings again...that beer saved my life.

 

I’d expect to hear Zwanze Day details in the next week or 2. Seems like the all the usual suspects for hosts including Side Project.
