Rodman's off Wisconsin. With tax it came out to around $17.50 a piece.
Oh absolutely things could've been a little more equitable. I agree with you there. I also believe that with severely limited releases the distributor should either lottery out the bottles to shops or give 1 case to their biggest account and maybe 7 bottles to the next, 5 to the next, etc so that customers can get it rather than basically eliminating them in the state. It was on the distributor here IMO, they did what they thought was fair but it left customers empty handed.
Great idea by the store owner to stop all the greedy schmo's from sucking them all up. Kudos!
I found this at a couple of places in Mass this week
My girlfriend was able to snag one for me at The Wine Source in Baltimore. She was on a list, so they held one for her, but apparently they wouldn't let her grab a second cuz the few they had left were for customers on the list.
Did we ever get an estimate on # of bottles produced?? Just curious and w/ this thread 10+ pgs now....anyway, does anyone know??
Based on a beerpulse article it says that only 100 Bbls were created.
Just did quick searches so don't know if these numbers are right.
295 bottles in a bbl
29,500 bottles total?
Found some at Corridor today.
I think there was only 100 BEER barrels produced. Theres only about 158 bottles (750 ml) per barrel. 31 gallons in a barrel = 128 ounces per gallon = 25 oz per 750 ml. I also believe there was quite a bit that went to draft. If I had to guess, probably around 10,000 bottles, and with the sound of how much each distributer recieved, I'd say this is more likely than almost 30,000 bottle.
I got mine at Whole Foods, I'd just call around to different grocery stores and bottle shops if you haven't gotten any yet. Any idea where to find some Maharajah ?
To all those who are still searching I wish you luck. I am only 2 hours away from the brewery in a town of 250,000 + people and as far as I could find got one case in town. I was lucky enough to score a bottle by a gracious Ba that saw I was close to him and we traded for one. And he found his over 100 miles away from both of us. So I can understand everyone's frustration. May the beer gods be with you.
FWIW.. What I heard from a SN rep here locally.. A total 1000 cases were produced. 12 bottles to a case 12,000 bottles total. Here in the Central Valley of California where No1Smitty & myself are.. The local distributor rep told me that the 4 county area they serve got a total of 8 cases. The accounts that recieved these cases were dictated by SN. The distributor had zero input on who got what. The distributor rep told me they had some accounts that were furious that they wouldn't be getting the BA Bigfoot. I also heard somewhere that in the state of California a total of 250 cases where distributed.
For the anyone searching around the Phoenix Arizona area...
Total Wine San Tan and Tempe both got thier allocation today, one case.
I got my hands on one, but they are going pretty quick!
The total wines in sac, roseville and folsom each got one case to my knowledge, yet the bevmo in roseville on pleasant grove got 3 or 4 cases, makes me think the douglas bevmo also got more than one case, crazy stuff.
On display at the PCC in Issaquah, WA. 15 bucks.
About six bottles left @ 2:00 pm
All seasons market in Ann Arbor, MI (Plymouth Rd) got them today. Call first.
Roseville Total Wine had plenty to my surprise after a week.
Yes it was only available at the brewery for 2 days then it was sold out. I think they still have it on tap but you cant get it in growlers or anything.
Livermore BevMo has a couple left after an entire week of sitting. Just ask a cashier. Limit 1.
I'm going to myrtle beach in June, will this be available there then?
If you buy one now and take it with you...
Nugget Roseville still has a few bottles as of earlier today. Between WF , Bevmo, TW and Nugget this area got a surprising amount of product. Bravo SN.
It's gotten to Colorado, as of today. Paid a little over 16 for a bottle.
Found both at the Tacoma BevoMo today.
All Seasons got one, which you probably bought. Beer Depot hasn't received any thus far. How about tipping your hand as to where you got this in Canton - was it Holiday Market?
Blaming SN for your distributor's actions...not cool.
Also, plenty of psychotically vigilant beer geeks got shut-out on this one... demand > supply
It is worth the hype. This stuff is incredible. A perfect whiskey barrel aged beer.
I was more or less venting, but the fact that Maine only got two cases total has nothing to do with the distributor, and everything to do with SN. I do think the distributor handled it wrong, but they were put into a no win situation by the allocation they received in the first place. Again...venting frustration...still love SN...still gonna crack a delicious Narwhal after I shovel the two and a half feet of snow off my deck so the dogs can go take a dump.
I agree, was really surprised how much I liked it.
A beer that was released over the last two weeks available in four months? Seriously?
It's worth it to try for sure. I like Sucaba much better though.
Walked in to my local Total Wine (Ballantyne area, Charlotte, NC) this morning and found out that they had received a case last night and put them on the shelf with no limit. There were 7 left, but a guy came up as I was putting them into my cart and I handed him one, so I got half a case.
Called a buddy in the University area in Charlotte, NC and told him to check with his Total Wine today, he just reported back to me that he bought a half case also (he left a single bottle on the shelf for a lucky finder).
That sucks about All Seasons Market. I actually talked to the guy today and he told me that the driver dropped him off 1 case. But then the driver called back because he had mistakenly given him that area's allotment (only the one case). The Canton spot was Discount Drinks on Lilly and Joy. The owner is a bit of a dick, but he is ok if you are a regular. Good luck. I have feelers out for more, maybe we can trade or something.
If some one could help me I'm looking for a place to find just one bottle of the Barrel Aged Big foot in Washtenaw County,In Michigan thanks.
Looks like my area got screwed. We only got a case or two, which I missed out on.
So how much should Maine (1.3 million people) get and where should they take the allocation from in order to give it to Maine? They could have sent you none after all; word is that Iowa isn't getting any.
Well I just found a 4pk of 2010 North Coast Old Stocks and 7 Founders Harvest Ales sitting in a cooler at one of the best beer bars in Ohio. So anything is possible I would imagine. And if anybody can get it and not Hopslam I would be willing to trade.
If anyone in the Bay Area, namely Marin County, is ISO, check Mill Valley Market.
They had some there last night...I got three, plus one each if the BA Ovila Dubble (wine BA) and the Quad (brandy BA), both only $3.49 a bottle!
Maybe take a case here and there from states where people are pulling multiples...I don't know...I'm no expert...but as it stands they may as well have sent none...because none of us are gonna see it anyway...just send our two cases somewhere else I guess.
Very different animals. Old Stock is a very well distributed beer, we still have a case of 2012 on shelf, so does nearly every store around me. Harvest Ale can sit for a while if it's in a lesser traffic area easily. BA Bigfoot, with all the hype, all the demand, and the seriously limited allocation, it won't sit anywhere for any length of time. Like, no more than a day.
