I am happy to get a 4-pack of 16oz cans for the same price as the 750ml bottles from previous releases. Having my first now and it is damn good. This release is 11.9%, lower than previous releases.

@SierraTerence please consider releasing BA Bigfoot in the same format.

Nice to see the trend away from large format bottles continuing. Death to the cork and cage!

There have been precious few beer releases about which I was more excited than BA Narwhal.

Now in cans, potentially with greater distribution? Sign me up.

If you guys see this, and I hope that you do, please buy lots of it. The better this sells the higher the likelihood I will get my BA Bigfoot!

Truth. I missed a mortgage payment stocking up on the blended vintage version they last released.

I was a bigger fan of BA Narwhal vs BA Bigfoot and that surprised me as the opposite was true for the non barrel aged.

Did you try the blended age ba bigfoot? That beer was sublime

BA Bigfoot, the blended vintage especially, stands out as uniquely wonderful to me. @unlikelyspiderperson is spot on. There just aren't any other barrel-aged barleywines like it on the market. BA Narwhal is a splendid example of a barrel-aged stout, but that is a much more crowded field and therefore doesn't stand out as much.

I prefer fresh Narwhal to fresh Bigfoot, but well aged Bigfoot is an all-time favorite of mine.

I've not seen the other BA bigfoot, but now that I think about it our better bottle shop does have a big cork and cage bottle of bigfoot that doesn't look like the trip in the woods bottle, might have to give it a shot. Either way I am super interested in some BA narwahl

Has anyone seen this in Ohio? It is not showing up on their beer finder, but I’ve found those are not always accurate.

Those of you who have already picked some up, how limited was this at the stores you found it?

Also, has the roastiness tamed down with the barrel treatment? I recall not liking regular narwhal much as it was chalky and bitter. However I'm a huge fan of non adjunct barrel aged stouts. BA expedition is probably my favorite and transforms into magic after the barrel. How does BA narwhal compare to BA expo?

BA Narwhal is one of the popular BA imperial stouts I always wanted to try, but I only saw once when I was new to beer and didn't want to spend $20 on a bottle. I would definitely like to try this if I see it.

Think we will see more of Bourbon Barrel Stouts in cans in the near future from the medium to larger breweries. 750's have taken a dump in the market place for these beers, and most breweries have thousands of barrels filled in warehouses that were filled when there was market demand for them a couple years ago. Most people have moved on from them and their high price point and bottle size, and shifted to lower alcohol beers. I can see more 4 packs in the $20 range coming out as breweries try to break even and free up space.

Hoping to see this beer in the Austin area soon.

I had some of this a few years ago at the NC brewery on a motorcycle trip to Asheville. I really enjoyed it. I’ve found plenty here in Louisville. Had my first one today. I enjoyed it a lot. I love stouts and barrel-aged beers but I can’t tolerate the overly sweet ones. This one did not disappoint nor did I feel it was too “roasty” or bitter. I bought several 4 packs to share with my friends/family who can’t get it where they live.

Jaycase, thank you for the link, it worked much better than Sierra Nevada's own search tool. I found some (pending verification) within 25 miles. Awesome.

Agreed. BA Narwhal (2015?) was my first and still only beer where I waited while it was on the truck in the back of the store being offloaded. Paced around the store for 20 minutes or so until they got the box in and was handed the first bottle.

Still no sight in SEPA or DE. $20 I’m going to grab 3-4 packs.

The beer shop I was at Monday told me to check Back Friday.

Just finished my case of regular bottles this past fall. I think I like BBCS a bit more but won’t turn either away. Is Black Ops BBCS in a barrel?

    Enjoy

I found some in lower Delaware yesterday. The store only got 1 case and they told me that was all they would be able to get.
