Amidst a sea of IPAs and beer geeks fawning over the latest, freshest IPA from their local brewery, the fact that this beer still garners so much attention and praise after all these years, speaks volumes about Sierra Nevada.

    I can't wait to Celebrate.

I don't know if there are any horse racing fans on here, but I'm crossing my fingers that this hits stores in MA this week so I can bring some to a Breeders Cup party. Looking to Celebrate Honor Code and Runhappy victories!!

Me too. Celebration never disappoints (and I particularly like it months after the holiday season...probably even more than when it first appears).
For me, it's still one of the best IPAs out there (in addition to being significantly better than anything made local to me).

This is a beer I'd wait in line to buy, if I had to. There's not many of those.

Picked up a 6 pack today at Wilbur's Total Beverage in Fort Collins, CO. Packaged on Oct. 2, which is great since our liquor stores are full of 4-5 month old Pale Ales and Torpedos.

How long do you think it will hold up? Liquor store by work has a 12 pk from 2014 for $9.99. Would you pull the trigger on that purchase?

No I bought a six pack of Celebration a few years back and someone snuck one from the year before in it. I didn't notice it till it hit my tongue. I have had worse old beers but this is not Bigfoot. Try to get a fresher 6 pack.

It's everywhere in north and south Orange County. Had one last night. A pine tree in a glass. Love it.

I certainly would, in a heartbeat. In fact I grabbed a sixer of the 2014 myself a few months ago. The character certainly changes with time, but not at all in a bad way (not to me, anyway). It certainly did not disappoint.
But again...that's only my own personal take on it.

Nothing ever is! All beers are getting worse year after year. I don't even like beer.

Seems you're over thinking it. Wet hop, not dried used within 1-2 days of picking. Fresh hop, picked and used within a week or so. Plenty of others use the term wet hop. How about we just enjoying this fine brew? And this one they bottle condition as well.

So many brews out there, both wet hop and fresh hop. Just do the beer search here by fresh hop or wet hop. I think not confusion, they seen to be more specific. And enjoy. Go to the SN website and look at the specs for Celebration. Very helpful to know the difference between fresh hop and wet hop.

"Over recent years, there has been some confusion about the difference between fresh and wet hops. While it may seem like semantics, to us it’s an important distinction.
Wet Hops are un-dried hops, picked and shipped from the growing fields within 24 hours.

Fresh Hops are the freshest dried hops to come from the fields, typically within seven days of harvest.
Over 90% of the world’s hop harvest happens between August 31 and October 31, and these hops are used throughout the calendar year. Can hops possibly be the same on November 1, one day after harvest, as they are on July 25, nearly one year after growing in the fields? The answer is no. We think of hops like dry kitchen spices—the flavor of thyme or rosemary right after the jar is opened is far more intense than it is six months later. The same can be said for hops. There are ways to control the way hops age and to reformulate and readjust as some of the aromas fade, but there’s nothing like the magic of the first bales of hops as fresh as can be. That is the stuff dreams are made of!"
Direct quote from the Sierra Nevada website from the Celebration Beer page, quite helpful and informative.
