Been hearing rumors that Celebration will be shipping to distributors starting tomorrow (October 17th) so I figured it was time to start this thread again. Please post here if and when it hits your area. @SierraTerence thanks for any insight you can provide. Can’t wait to grab a 12 pack or two.

Looking forward to the first sighting here in MA. I always grab at least a few cases over the course of a couple months. Hopefully more of it shows up in bottles...

I heard this year's packs more cinnamon!

It's been a crazy year and I'm more excited than normal for Celebration's arrival and the holiday season! Almost can't wait for those cool November/December days....pouring a Celebration, football on TV and just enjoying all that is Celebration!

They did mention on one of their social media posts, "we'll be releasing a small run of bottles this year. Stay tuned for details." (magnums for everyone!) but yeah, the vast majority will be draft/cans as you mention it seems.

TW closest to me shows November availability of bottles for $31.99 a case. I’m going to take the drive when they are available.

    Enjoy

I think I will shake a bit of cinnamon on a glass of Celebration, feels like it might work. Maybe not.

    Enjoy

I heard they're worried about stagnating sales so they switched it up and went with a Thai red curry blend. Rumor has it there's some Easter egg packs with pumpkin spice in select markets too.

Also, it's hazy now (mostly due to all all curry powder)

I hate it when bars add the cinnamon rim to Celebration. It's like adding a lemon wedge to a Hefeweizen. Celebration is brewed to be enjoyed as it is, the spices come from the ingredients used in the brewing process.

Why do you think it holds up for so long for an IPA? Spices, duh.

    LOL!

On a serious note, I am of the opinion that Celebration holds up 'better' with age since it is a balanced (i.e., balanced between malt flavors and hop flavors) IPA. As the beer ages the hop aroma/flavor will fade some but the beer still retains a 'better' balanced flavor profile.

A Sierra Nevada IPA that does not hold up well with age is Dankful IPA. That beer 'falls off a cliff' after 1-2 months since that beer predominantly features the hops when it is very fresh (i.e., less than a month old).

    Cheers!

P.S. I discussed very fresh Dankful IPA in a past NBW thread: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/new-beer-weekend-16.649790/#post-7079741

If you gave me a truth serum, I’d tell you that Celebration is my favorite SN beer for precisely the reasons you mention in your excellent post, Jack. It’s a beer that holds up well, regardless of the whiskers it accumulates.

Will the cans be can conditioned? It appears the bottles were, but I thought someone posted that it’s cans only this year.

The presumption (well, mine anyway ) from a prior SNT post is it will be can conditioned, similar to last year. Hopefully he can chime in with a confirmation. And yes it seems it will be mostly cans this year.
