Yeah, but you really did not address the specifics here: after drinking Celebration did you "crave something hazy and less bitter"?

    Cheers!

I did address the bitter part and if I were in the mood for one a hazy could fit the less bitter bill, sure.

Celebration is not a bitter bomb but it does lean that way and as you know I do find it to be a bit meh. I'm glad I picked up the fresh six pack but this will be it for me for this year.

I have only purchased one six-pack as well. The price that is being charged in our area is 'onerous' compared to what most of the other BAs have reported they are paying. Unfortunately SOP here. :slight_frown:

I have been drinking my homebrewed Ekuanot IPAs instead. I had one earlier this evening and it is plenty 'old school' bitter. :yum:

Your palate is quite different from mine.

Next on deck: my homebrewed version of Pliny the Elder which is 'extra' bitter.

    Cheers!

Picked up my 4th 12 pack yesterday afternoon unplanned.

Went to the drive thru distributor around here and the lady that runs it was working. The only other time I did this, it was a lady that wasn’t very familiar with craft beer. Was kind of a hassle.

So pulled up with the thought to get some Lord Chesterfield bottles, but when I saw this lady working I hesitated and just said Celebration bottles since I knew she would know where they were at.

Bottled date is 10/18 (same as my last 12 pack) and they were pulled off the floor. So they were probably sitting there for a few weeks now.

Had 2 bottles yesterday and in my opinion thought they were the best yet. Go figure. Maybe it does get better with age?

Well, I picked up a 12 pack dated 10/20. Figure it'll be my last of the season but damn is it tasty. Anyone seen any November packaging?

I've seen 11/02 in Norcal. Haven't looked in a couple weeks though, might be something newer bouncing around.

I was surprised to find Celebration on tap at a local bar while visiting family in Louisiana this past weekend and after 2 pints I have to say, even as someone who really enjoys the packaged version, it was an eye-opening experience how good it was on tap. Amazing.

Finally tracked down Celebration on draft...glorious. For my palate this year draft > bottles > cans. Hoping to grab one more case of bottles at Costco, then I'm done for the season.

Update Dec 26th - bought a single can 4 weeks after the 6 pack I bought in late Noveember. Beer seems to have changed considerably, sweetness and hop aroma is gone and it’s now just regressed to more of a bitter hopped IPA. More in line with how I’ve remembered it in all the past years I’ve had it. I then had it on tap on Dec 27th and also tasted bitter/ not jumping in aroma or sweetness anymore. Not sure what’s going on here. I know I’ve bought it relatively fresh in past years so it’s very odd with my 1-off different 6 pack experience this year back in November. Not sure how my taste buds would be different over that week or 2 period.

So much can influence your palate/taste in a given moment. What you've eaten/drank recently is the big one. This happens to me all the time with beer.

Happy New Year BeerAdvocates! Been digging 2022 Celebration IPA for a couple of months plus and need to grab more from the dwindling supply. Say, with this yrs batch, upon pouring, I notice a difference in head size with cans. It's bigger than the bottled version. Kinda has a slightly different feel as well. Tastes fantastic as always. Anyone else find this as well? Cheers!
