Just saw this on the Instagram feed and it looks awesome. No info on it yet but I'm guessing it will be released late November with the Trip in the Wood Series. Hopefully it gets national distribution.

I think I'll have to pass on this. $20.00+ is too much to pay for a beer you'r 99% sure you won't enjoy. Will be happy to try it for free if given the chance.

I doubt it. I'm pretty sure I know my tastes better than you. Enjoy your bottles.

I haven't had any Narwhal variant that I like as much as the base beer, but I'd drink the crap out of this.

I've always called Narwhal The Bourbon County Killer... and this looks like some serious slaying going on.

I, for one, wish for the return of the regular BA versions of Narwhal and Bigfoot. This just seems like further Ballast Point-esque dilution of a classy beer.

I've said on the record that BA Narwhal might be my favorite of our beers... this might beat that. The last time I tasted it, it was still uncarbonated, (nonstop travel) but even then I wanted to pour it on ice cream. I can't wait to get back to the brewery and grab bottles.

I much prefer the base beer over any BA variant released so far but I'll be looking for this one for the coconut.

I got to try this on draft at Bourbon & Beyond this past weekend in Louisville. I'm not even a huge fan of coconut but this was AMAZING. I'll definitely grab a bottle if I see it.

Really disappointed in the whimping of last years releases. I still see the currant narwahl and the ginger bigfoot just sitting on the shelves. So sad, so unneeded to try to "improve" on an already great thing. Color me jaded. Will still get my cases of regular narwhal and bigfoot though. Cheers.

I'm jaded as well. Just leave my damn beer taste like beer already.

Then again, how are they going to sell beer if it doesn't taste like it's not beer?

Too pricey for me for what they are. I will be picking up few packs for the base one for sure.

I just found regular Narwhal in my favorite bottle shop, Premier Liquors in Western NY and the price went from $9.99 to almost $15.00. I always thought that it was a great stout for the money but at a 50 percent jump in price I am voting with my feet. Somebody is getting greedy and I choose not to participate. I can't tell if I should be disappointed in Sierra Nevada or Premier Liquors.

I could be wrong...but I believe this is the first time they have been released in 6packs instead of 4 packs like they did with Bigfoot. Could explain the price jump.

Hey @flaskman , you get 50% more beer this year. That's why the 50% jump in price. Now all 3 of hoptimum, bigfoot, and narwhal are in 6 packs

Yep a $10 4 pack and $15 6 pack are the same price per ounce/per beer. Outside of maybe Lagunitas, I don't think a $10 imperial stout 6 pack is very likley.

Too each its own, but I think this year's Narwhal is too thin and too hoppy, without any roasty characteristics of an Imperial Stout. Border-line Black DIPA! Some breweries just love over-hopping ever single beer.

That's crazy, we must be drinking a different beer. This years Narwhal is a thick and roasty perfect example of an Imperial Stout.
