Just got off the phone with @SierraTerence with some awesome news!

Based on some very vocal feedback from the BeerAdvocate community, he wanted to let all of you know that he's successfully advocated to bring Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest and Summerfest back in 2023! And yes, both will be nationally distributed as part of their seasonal rotation; Powder Day, Summerfest, Oktoberfest, and Celebration.

Oh, and Oktoberfest will once again be a collaboration with a yet to be named German brewery!

Big thanks to Terence for his efforts, being a part of this community, and for sharing the news with us. He just landed in Denver for the GABF, but plans to jump into the thread soon with more info.

    Cheers!

Nevermind all the poor sales reported in years past that cancelled out SF & OF?

The first BA member who says they're "trying a single" gets a visit from the Beer Police.

Yeah, !@#$ them picky beer geeks! I'm buying a case as soon as I find one. (As long as it's less than 2 months from packaging, has been refrigerated the entire time, kept out of direct light [OK, that one's easy for cases of cans], priced reasonably, has a label that I find attractive, the Oktoberfest is brewed with a German partner I find acceptable... anything else? I'll think of something between now and "Beer Summer" [aka end of March].)

The best thing about Sierra Nevada seasonal beers is that they are fresh at my local beer retailers.

And in a couple/few weeks I will be able to purchase fresh Celebration!!

How soon before the complaints roll in for dropping Summer Break and Liquid Hoppiness?

Awesome news! And I guess Powder Day did well enough to return. I am cool with that. Tis a good beer.

Yawn. Not gonna play their catch and release games. They've had their chances, and now we've got other options.

Always been a big fan of SN beers - Pale Ale is always in my beer fridge, along with Torpedo, Tropical Torpedo, Hazy and (seasonally), Celebration. Two of my seasonal favorites were Summerfest and Oktoberfest - so I'm happy to hear they are coming back!

Same, I couldn’t care less at this point which brewery is gonna hold their hand for next year’s Oktoberfest.

Can't wait to see who they collaborate with on the Oktoberfest.
Put me down for a sixer of the Summerfest as well - been too long since I've had that one!

As a principled BA user, I for one will be boycotting the return of Summerfest to protest the previous discontinuing of Summerfest.

Overall, Sierra Nevada's collaborations with German brewers have been good to excellent - glad to see them returning. The Summerfest lager is always welcome for the summer, though I never considered it a top-rated lager.

Man I wish I saw what everybody else sees in Summerfest. Will definitely try the OFest though. That Brauhaus Riegel collab was likely the best lager in general that I've ever had.

Some people love to hate. :stuck_out_tongue: Of course I'm buying a six pack minimum of both and more if good and well priced.

Summer beers work best in cans. Just saying....

If I'm able to, I'll buy a 12-pack of each minimum as thanks for bringing these back. They're two of my favorite seasonals from any brewery, along with Celebration.

For me Nooner was my favorite. I don't even remember summerfest. It seems if I like summer seasonal they change or disappear.

    Narragansett Summer Ale. It changed.
    Brooklyn Summer. It changed.

Excited to try Summerfest after all the love I have seen on BA about it over the years, and finally enjoying lagers, particularly pilsners.

Nice. But to be honest, I have far better of both styles brewed locally.
So SN..go back to your Hazy bois, it OK.

Narragansett Summer Ale was dropped a few years after they changed it. They brought it back this year in 4 packs as "Summer Crusher" but its a lager now. I didnt pick it up when I saw it so i dont know if it was any good. I dont remember what the old Brooklyn Summer tasted like but the the current one is a English Style Pale Ale and I thank them for having that style since its not too common anymore and perfect for summer.

Ive never found another beer that can stand in for SN stout. I guess that's evidence that it's not a widely appealing substyle? Either way, I miss it.

It's nice but I prefer their porter. And it's not near as hoppy as the SN stout.
