I try and do both. Acquire a couple of the same to try one fresh and aged. I cellar beers more than the average ba. Not always by choice. As the cellar grows and I age and drink less, bottles seem to sit a while before I get to them. Gotta do more bottle shares I guess.

I find myself buying big BA beers more often than others because I don't have to worry about when I get to them. I don't like really hot beers so really if I forget I have a certain hot beer it's actually an advantage for me.

Depends on the beer if you ask me. I can drink BCBS fresh no problem...the heat is subdued by the sweetness of the base beer and it's just really well balanced to me. Then you take a beer like Old Rasputin XV...hot as hell with a lower ABV. Nothing about the XV tells me to drink it fresh...sometimes it's a better beer when certain characteristics fade, Old Raspy XV is a strong candidate for this designation. I say try one and decide for yourself...in the end it's yourself you're trying to please....

I prefer the freshness of the barrels too. That stated, Parabola with some months on it is > than fresh Parabola...so I can't unequivacally agree. And I want to thank my locals liquor store for being so kind to be the one to age it for me (not that they did so purposefully).

I rarely age stuff, not because I don't think it will taste better, but there's no time like the present.

You can't drink when you're dead.

I prefer mine fresh. Anything past like 2 years max is a waste.
