lands tomorrow afternoon....will be on shelves by next week for sure, perhaps as early as Friday...
Any word when this will hit Illinois?
will be on shelves next week - and fwiw, and to prevent having to do this for every state in the country, it should be noted that all wholesalers receive product this week, and it should be on shelves by next week.
Will the ABV be different? All I got from that bit was that the flavor will be less boozy - maybe the ABV will simply be hidden a little better.
11.1% --------> 10.5%
Just cause it ruins the 'it goes to 11' joke
I'm really going to miss sixpoint when i move to Colorado
Sixpoint is awesome, but something tells me you'll be just fine in that state.
Man, I loved Hi-Res last year. I didn't give it exactly perfect marks because I was rating it to style, but on its own I enjoyed the ever loving crap out of it, outside of style boundaries. I am absolutely looking forward to this year's version.
I'll skip chasing Hopslam this year, and to be perfectly honest will probably be just as satisfied with a 4-pack of Hi-Res.
Beast Mode also hitting the shelves in your area end of this week.
you can't stop the shining
Awwww man! I like how boozey last years HI-RES was.
fyi i believe fools gold is tapping hi-res tonight ahead of the sixpoint even there tomorrow night if anyone wants to try it. i know there are a few other great events in nyc going on tomorrow so might be a good chance to try it on tap tonight
I'm actually excited that you guys toned down the booziness. I thought it was a fantastic beer last year, but too boozy for me.
I love @Sixpoint threads. Come to Michigan, bastards!
I am Jack's slowly rapping fingers on my tabletop while hitting refresh on the @Sixpoint beer finder app. C'mon Hi-Res... where you at?
Had a request for Hi-Res from a trading partner in New Mexico. Gotta be amazing if New Mexicans are requesting it, because they get some fancy IPAs over there.
You really think the 0.6% less ABV is going to drastically change how boozy it is?
Never had your beers, but considering your presence on this forum and willingness to accept feedback from the community, I'll be having them soon. Class act. Blown away that there are only a handful of breweries that have a presence on this forum.
I liked the taste of the booziness in last years. So im assuming with that 0.6% less abv im going to taste a difference. If it happens to be drastic ill let you know.
So here is the scoop....all Hi-Res has been delivered to every single wholesaler. Every single wholesaler will have their deliveries going out next week.
This years has a much more pronounced hop flavor and less booziness and sweetness to it. There will be a distinct juiciness in the end, with a citrus and floral aroma. This beer is no joke.
Please let us know what you think! Personally I thought it tasted supreme on draft. If you can find it on draft in your area next week, seek it out!
have a great weekend everyone
Possibly, but more likely I think that you can hide the "booziness" with other ingredients.
Wow. Just picked up a bottle in good beer and it's great. Awesome hop presence. Really a great beer. Good work @Sixpoint
I dig this year's Hi Res a lot. I agree about it being less boozy. It's actually scary how much balance there is for > 10% ABV. Nice hop bite, nice nose. Great stuff.
Just cracked my first of the year - outstanding!!
@BeerVikingSailor @JackHorzempa @SixpointJMH @jRocco2021 @fmccormi
glad to hear all of the hard work paid off! Thanks for believing in us and our commitment to continuous improvement.
We'll have Hi-Res at my Venice, FL shop this coming week!
when does this hit MA? I've been looking but nothing yet. You guys are one of my favorite breweries and from the sounds of it you responded exactly to my criticism of last years brew. I can't wait to get my hands on this one. Only thing I'm worried about is if it tastes as good as it sounds, I might be wishing it still came in 4 packs. I'm afraid I'll down all 6 by accident.
nice! thanks for the support
will be on shelves in MA starting next week.... and fwiw, it is still a 4-pack
Aw come on!
Looks like I still got some waiting to do.
I know everyone is nervous about a reformulation, but I haven't seen Sixpoint give us any reason for concern. Sure, there's a possibility that it could not be as good (although I see no reason to doubt Sixpoint's good sense and taste), but there is also a damn good chance that the beer will be improved. Hi-Res being even better? I need to sit down to take that in.
Wow, you live in NJ and never tried one? Surprising. If you like dank IPAs, give resin a try. The Crisp is one of my favorite lagers, if not my favorite. Not everything they put out is a "wow" beer, but everything is at least good. No duds. Plus cans!
Yup I agree. I liked the last one too but this one is an improvement.
now imagine if we improved it like this every year for the next 20 years....powerful!
I am a bit sad that perhaps the sweetness has been dialed down, but regardless, I can't wait to put this lovely hop cordial into my gullet!
I had a can that was nearly a year old and it still tastes very good. Sounds like you had a bad can dude! Do not let that sway you from trying this stuff. As far as triple ipas go, this is top notch. I always thought the booze was very well hidden, that it tasted very hoppy still without the malt dominating it. Dangerously drinkable too.
I GOT YOUR BACK SIXPOINT!!!
love it when you talk Victorian English hophead to us ;-)
is that avatar Julie Andrews with a couple of machine guns, ala Sound of Music style? Or am I nuts? or both?
Anyone seen this in va yet?
Haha, yes, it's "The Sound Of Death Metal"
