Happened to me with an aged Olde School. My only one I had left. That was pretty much my exact reply when I saw him crack it and take a swig out of the bottle. When I explained what it was, he appreciated it more and was happy to split it up into 2 glasses. I couldn't get upset in the least, he was a good guy, it was a last minute party, and it was in the fridge. He still raves about it. So I guess I didn't piss him off or anything.

Holy shit, ultimate dick move. If I took a beer I didn't like I would just give it to someone else. Fuck...

I courteously ask them if I may get a glass for them. Show them how to properly pour
it. Then drop the cap on the floor, as they lean over to pick it up bash them in the
back of the head with the empty bottle. When they ask what happened that's when I inform
them that I won't be able to be friends with them any longer due to their poor beer etiquette.

    I'd tell him
"thanks for opening that beer! I was saving it in my basement for a special occasion that will never come, and now I have a chance to try it before it goes too far downhill."

One time, I almost left a beer that was very special to me, somewhere where someone, who I did not explain to how special the beer was, could grab the beer, but then I didn't

Probably did you a favor as you kept it for a while. Nugget drops off really fast in quality.

I was waiting in line to purchase my findings at an event at a local bottle shop and we were talking (we = everyone in line) about such things. One dude had picked up some BCBS the previous week and some stores in town got cases of bombers of '09 BCBS and he got one, had it in his fridge to enjoy with some friends that coming weekend. But his roomates had someone over the night he got it, and they opened it and had it without him being home. He got home and went to grab a beer and was like "Where'd that bomber go?" "Oh we drank it, but don't worry we'll get you another one" "... ... ..."

I woulda changed the locks the next time they left.

I do the same as previously mentioned, anything in my fridge is fair game though, my cellar my friends know not to go down there and most don't know what half it means/is so they don't touch it (they've seen what I've done to people touching my video games back in the day so they don't bother) heh I'm an ass.

This exact thing happened to my friend a couple weekends ago. I helped him get a bottle of Black Note when it came out, and he had it in his beer fridge. He forgot to take it out before the party, and when one of our mutual friends came over, he went into the fridge, grabbed it, took a swig, and said "this is really good". My friend just looked at him in semi-horror. I ended up giving him one of my extra bottles from my 4 pack since I felt bad.

The guy's just a huge dumbass. The stories I could tell you about his idiocy are legendary. Ever lose your car for two weeks because you can't remember where you parked it?

People that are welcome to the beer I have to offer already know what they would need permission to grab, so I don't see this being a problem with my friends. We do have parties where people come over that I'm not really close with, and if one of them had the nerve to go into the fridge and grab something of mine without my permission and it happened to be one of my prized possesions, things could get violent lol.

If you have anything you don't want someone else to drink, you tell them as much. Don't get annoyed if they open something you'd rather they didn't when you never said it was off limits.

This has happened to me, but not with anything exceptionally rare, just Hoptimum and Dubhe, but I only had a single of the Dubhe, so that was quite annoying. I was kinda pissed as I know he was just forcing it down.

Whenever I have a lot of friends over I (or one of my friends) buys a 30 rack of cheap crap beer. I take the box from the 30 and use that to cover up what I don't want them to take. Works like a charm.
