I am having a rum barrel aged Pumking at the moment and I must say it reminds me a lot of a highballl .
    You know like a 7 & 7. Anyone else agrees ?

I live about an hour from the Southern Tier Brewery and get there about once a year to lunch at the Empty Pint and do the tour and try out some great new stuff. There have been a few offerings that I was not real crazy about, but that probably had more to do with the style. I'm usually very, very impressed with their offerings and they always have one or two on tap just for the locals. Their IPA is one of my staples. What really impressed the shit out of me was when I saw Gemini in the Superpack!! Also very much looking forward to the 2XPRESSO, when I was there about a month ago the tour guide didn't seem to know when it was coming out...

She did mention a new distillery across the street though.... hmmmmmmm......

I'm not the biggest milk stout fan, but I'm curious to try the 2XPresso.

That would have to be in the last 2yrs then. As last time I was there, about 2.5yrs ago, they were still using only real pumpkins, maybe a bit of extract to level off the flavor. They even talked about how they have to get such a large shipment of them from South America so they start production as early. I know that was how they originally started making it too. I can totally see them changing to much more extract with a blending of real pumpkins though, as I agree their production has increased an insane amount.

It's sad actually, as I Loved the first 3yrs of PumKing so much. I have a couple bottle of Rum barrel aged that I'm looking forward to trying.

Just came across some single varietal ales by them that I thought were really good. I've never seen/heard of them before so I'm thinking they're new. They're called 'Ration Types', and available in Centennial, Cascade and Columbus. Only 4.8% abv too so they're pretty refreshing
