Any one know anything about this Spiegelau Stout glass? Is it new? It's not the same thing as their Tulip for stouts that comes in the classics 4 pack.

"Following in the footsteps of the hugely successful IPA glass project, Spiegelau has partnered with two of the leading Stout brewers in the United States, Left Hand Brewing Company from Colorado and Rogue Ales from Oregon to create the ultimate tool for enjoying Stout beer."

It seems it was developed after the IPA glass, and it's pretty similar. I've only seen it listed at one U.S. store so far, but they are out of stock. In fact, I have no idea if they were ever even in stock, just that they list it.

It's also on the UK Riedel site, but not the U.S. http://riedel.co.uk/index.php/blog/beerclassicsstout/

Please don't be as thin and fragile as the IPA glass.

I personally don't mind the thinner lead crystal glass. Its like all my Riedel wine glasses.

There is no longer any reason to use lead in glassware other than Riedel is greedy. Look for lead free glassware, there is even lead free crystal. Also various scientists have tested Riedels claims. They have found it's all marketing and the placebo effect. I love wine and beer, I don't have any love for Riedel. Lead is horrible for your health, not to mention that everything they make is overpriced.

Have to add I can't believe that rogue and left hand were chosen as the top stout brewers in the USA. I wouldn't have either in the top 10.

Edit this one is lead free, but still way overpriced. Don't know the conversion but its 17.50 lbs.

My personal preference has nothing to do with you. I'm not telling you go buy them. You drink out of whatever you like.

I'm looking for info regarding these glasses, their release, where to find them.

The Spiegelau SN/Dogfish IPA glass is a waste of money

That's great. But I'm looking for info on the stout glass. Not the IPA glass.

So two of the worst breweries in the country were chosen to create a glass specifically for their crappy stouts? Suffice to say I won't be purchasing said glass. My beat up old Founders CBS glass and DLD mini snifters will just have to get me by...

Yes, it was designed to only drink Left hand and Rogue stouts.

It actually explodes if you put any other beer in it. True story.

Do you feel better now that you have told us about which glasses you own? Because it's just so interesting. Where do you keep your glasses? Do they have names? What is your cleaning regimen? I mean it's all about you bro. It's your time to shine!

Or, can some one who actually can read and maybe has some info on the Spiegelau STOUT glasses, their release date, and where they may be able to be purchased, chime in?

Maybe buy a pair and report back.

No worries, thanks for the link. Unfortunately, before I made this thread, I contacted Spiegelau directly for info. No reply a week later. I also contacted iwawine.com a few days ago, and while they list them, they are not in stock.

That's why I was hoping some one here on BA maybe had some info as I've turned up nothing.

My apologies for being crabby. It's actually amusing to watch my progression into madness as I read the thread. Sorry if you bore the brunt.

This looks like an unribbed version of the IPA glass.

Funny, I used my IPA glass for stout out of laziness and found it suited it nicely. Looks like they thought the same thing.

What is the difference? The IPA glass is just ribbed for her pleasure?
