Was at a store in Frederick, MD yesterday and noticed that most all the Stone beers were pulled out, except for some very fresh Ruination 6ers (which I bought) and left over Delicious IPAs. The guy at the store said, "enjoy the Ruination's, may not see Stone around these parts for a while". I was like "whaatt?" He said something about a change over of distributors/contracts for Stone or something along those lines. Anyone know more info. or truth to what is going on with this?

PS: I've seen a lot of old /long outdated Stone beers still in circulation in a few stores around Frederick, but don't know if that has a factor into anything or not.

Everything I see from Stone and Green Flash is usually (much) more than a couple months old when I see it. Makes me wonder when the stores are getting it.

Lagunitas on the other hand always seems to be fresh and their seasonal releases plentiful.

Stopped in a different store today, and the clerks thought there is definitely some distributor contract thing going on. Also impacting Sierra Nevada as their store had to buy much more quantity than usual due to the distribution hiatus and not getting any for a while (not sure how long "a while" is though).

    Hey,

Thanks for your concern over the availability of Stone beer in Maryland! We have actually recently changed our distributor there so you should soon see any out of code beers coming off of the shelves and being replaced by a much fresher set. And whenever you do see beer past it's enjoy by date, please let us know (http://bit.ly/SB_Feedback) so we can get it replaced ASAP!

    Cheers,

Thanks for the feedback. I've actually posted 2-3 times on the Stone Website where I noticed outdated Stone brews on store shelves in my area. I'm always careful on these forums though not to identify or bash the store itself because we never know if its a store owner issue or distributor and I don't want to erroneously harm someones business, particularly if its places that I am a frequent customer in. In this case it sounds like it may have been a distributor issue and hopefully it gets rectified.

With that said the store I recently went to that had most all the Stone products removed and I'm guessing a Stone rep. may have put some super-fresh Ruination's there as a parting gift for us locals (3 weeks old which is freshest I've seen in my part of MD). I gladly grabbed a few, and they were delicious. Hopefully with new distributor <8week old fresh Stone products become more of the norm and not the rare exception in my area like it has been in the past.

Is this just for Central MD? This might explain the lack of Tangerine Enjoy By 5/30/16 in the area.

No idea how widespread this issue is, but I haven't seen any of the 5/30/16 Enjoy By's anywhere in Frederick area.

I never saw the tangerine enjoy by near Baltimore, which is the first in a while that I can recall not locating.

Really looking forward to enjoy by July 4 and some stone IPA cans!

According to Stone's website, enjoy by tangerine was not distributed to MD at all. It was pretty much everywhere else though.

That is really disappointing. Hope to see Stone back in full force here soon, love'em. Really good beer and easy to get.

I still haven't seen the Arrogant Bastard Cans yet. I think some DC/NOVA people saw them down that way. Any showing up in MD?
