Paid $9 for mine but still worth it!
Just picked up 4 bottles for $6 bucks each. Store had 3 left, should I go back and grab em?
This is a bomber of coffee, with a hint of imperial stout. Awesome, just awesome.
I was able secure 2 of these. They were sold out in one day. Still a ton of IRS left, so I'll drink those while this ages.
Need to pick up more I guess, there was a one bottle limit the day I went.
spotted in NJ yet? I haven't seen it (and apparently neither has beermenus)
My buddy and I got the last 2 of these that were on the shelf at the Binny's in Lombard yesterday. I'm excited to drink it.
got two of these and two of the traditional IRS
drinking one of the Espressos now, it's pretty incredible
Any hint of when/if it hits NC? It's been hitting in VA already.
i picked up 3 bottles today at 6.50 apiece.
couldnt find any traditional IRS though.
Sporadically became available in NYC. Most outlets got the IRS first. Luckily I tasted both at their release party at Taproom 307 - the EIRS was definitely awesome. Very smooth, velvety brew with more espresso than chocolate. Balanced sweetness.
<<< This guy got some. BM me...
On the lookout for this one tomorrow. Love coffee in my stouts as it pairs so well.
Well this post just dampened my enthusiasm regarding this bottle. If I want coffee I'll go to Starbucks. If I want a stout with espresso/coffee added, I still expect it to taste like beer.
I second this guess, nintendo does the same thing with all their consoles
Coffee-forward beers do not, generally, take kindly to aging, so you might want to drink these fresh and see how you like it. Having said that it is drinking fantastic right now. Cheers!
If coffee is added and covers up the "imperial russian" characteristics from the beer, then does it not become an American Double Stout?
loved this beer even more so than regular irs, will be getting bottles to sit on.
Havent opened mine yet, need to find the right time but it looks like I should pick up another while I still can?
Yes - that is the only correct answer to this question.
Lol. I don't think you buying 6 of 24 bottles when there was a 1 bottle limit qualifies as "thinking about other BA's."
yes. I got 2 bottles, but haven't opened one because a bar near me has both IRS's on tap. They are great, but a little hot, and could def use some age. Good now too though.
Picked up a couple bottles the other day, was there when they were delivered, place got 3 cases of the espresso. Tried it last night and was really disappointed, DP'd the 2nd half of the bottle.
I like Espresso IRS. It's creamy & smooth. In my opinion though, Founder's Breakfast Stout still takes the cake by far.
you just jel
LOL. nah I got my 4 bottles.
I like Espresso IRS fresh but i also think it could benefit with some age on it.
This needs to get to Long Island NOW,
What i mean is that it is very coffee forward. But think about the base beer for a minute. Do you really think a Stone IRS can be overwhelmed by any coffee addition?
For me, this beer has it going on. I like Lagunitas's Cappuccino stout and love Founders Breakfast Stout. I would have no qualms putting this beer ahead of both in terms of pure enjoyability.
First post on BA! Picked up a bottle and can't wait to crack it open.
BA Expresso Imperial Russian Stout please.....Stone!
Agreed, though they'd probably just put it in Quingenti Millilitre so people without "whalez bro" to trade for it can only salivate with envy.
Had it on draft tonight, delicious!
4 bottles at $5.99 each
HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS IN MICHIGAN!?
Dayman just hit South Florida, so I guess I'll be waiting a couple weeks for this one. Actually, I'll probably be out of town when it arrives. Hope some of it sits around...
