I actually really liked their Levitation ale from years ago. Seemed like that beer hit before session IPAs became a thing. Perhaps session IPAs are no longer a thing once again. I'm in no position to determine what's a thing and what isn't. But if session IPAs are still a thing, I'd like to see Levitation give it a go once more.

I really enjoyed GoTo. It was a really nice beer for what it was and at $10-11 for a 6x16 it was priced amazing. AB is still priced in the same range and I do buy that beer often.

    Enjoy

Which begs the question: are these 'new' lo-cal IPAs sub-Session IPAs!?!

    Cheers!

How many calories does a SN pale ale have? I feel like whatever that is should be the baseline for a pale/IPA, not some gimmick beer.

175 and almost 15 g of carbs so not the best choice depending on your diet.

There's no need for a "Session IPA". Just buy a Pale Ale. At least it has flavor and doesn't taste watered-down.

Finally got around to trying it. Honestly if they would have used different hops this probably would have been a really solid low calorie beer. Seems they get large hop contracts and then try to figure out how to use those hops in a beer. Cashmere and Azacca are just the latest to seem to find a way into any new beer they do. I remember when every new beer had Mandarina Bavaria for awhile until they gave up on that hop.

Go To IPA the original version was a great session IPA. As I get older I want to find a good hoppy beer under 6%.

Maybe I just stopped looking at stone by the time that was around, but I have never seen a stone beer priced that well

I got a sample of this and was pretty unimpressed. I had it along with several other newer Stone samples and was just left wondering what the hell is going on with them.

Lagunitas Daytime still remains a shower beer staple and my lo-cal, low alcohol "light" IPA of choice for its balance of hop aroma/flavor and session-ability.

I still buy Arrogant Bastard, 6x16 is right around $12-12.50. When I get to Delaware it’s $11 with the coupon.

Other Stone beers are much more for less beer.

    Enjoy

Check out the discussions on the thread related to the quest for good 2% ABV beers. Lots of conversation related to the challenge with making good, low ABV IPAs, as well as other styles and the potential demand or lack or, for such types of beer.

I would rather see them bring back Sublimely Self Righteous or Smoked Porter than yet another low cal IPA

I am with you here but I am not holding my breath here.

If Stone re-introduced those beers they might not 'win' the contest with Sierra Nevada Brewing Company to earn the rights to be IPA Brewing Company?

    Cheers!

Stone RVA posted yesterday I believe that they had 6ers of Self Righteous... doubt it will see any wide distro though (I sure as well won't drive 1.5 hours for it)

Had a F&B as part of the “12 Days of IPAs”pack. I didn’t expect much of anything out of this beer, but found it surprisingly enjoyable for a low abv IPA— might even buy a sixer this summer if it’s still around!

Levitation! Wow, I’d totally forgot about that beer. Stone was ahead of the curve there (though I think Sam Adams Light also came out around the same time).
