I was never super impressed by it, but if you enjoy arrogant bastard it's worth a try. Blend of AB, oaked AB, and double AB.

and unlike what the label says it ages well, just cracked a bottle a week ago, it is aging beautifully

It is a blend, but it is also double dry hopped IIRC. I had it fresh and the nose was INSANE

Agreed. I aged a single bottle over a year, tasted surprisingly delicious (wish I had aged more actually) and I had minimal hope or expectation of it too, more of an experiment. I recall a thread where Greg said not to age it on BA when someone asked if they should, and it was funny that even after the recommendation from the brewer, the OP decided to age it anyway, & I decided to do the same for the hell of it too. Part of the fun of aging is finding out what happens.

I was surprised at how well the hops held on, I aged six of them and have been drinking them a couple months more aged at a time to see how well it is progressing, i have two more, and I am damn excited that my next one will be next to a fresh one that will be fun to see the difference

I love this. I thought it was a perfect blend, and combined my favorite parts of all three Bastards without overwhelming too much.

I have one of the 2012 bottles in my cellar. Moved it to my fridge in honor of this news. Lets see how it did.

    Cheers!

Anyone know how difficult this will be to find? Typically the seasonal/occassional brews like 16th anniversary and VE brews aren't hard to find but the Enjoy By is only available for a few days and it is gone.

This was a awesome beer, i was lucky to have 3 bottles of it when it came out in '10, it really tied all the ab flavors into one nice and tasty beer.

Last year it seemed like there was about the same amount of Lukcy Bastard as there was Double Bastard.

I don't remember how difficult Double Bastard was to get... Stone releases are hit or miss if it will be readily available :slight_frown:

If you get Stone Seasonals IRS, Old Guardian, VE, etc... about the same as those.

    Definitely not like Enjoy by.
I live in the territory where Stone self-distributes, and I didn't see any Enjoy by.

OK! That helps, in my area I saw about 4 cases of Enjoy By but I am able to get IRS, Old Guardian, and Vertical Epics (Epic 11-11-11 just vanished from shelves maybe 2 months ago).

There was a Stone sampling in Austin at the Airport location and the guy pointed out there were 3 VE 11.11.11's on the shelf and he quickly grabbed one. There were still 2 up there as of Wednesday.

I'm not sure how true it could be, but I asked about the Enjoy By and if we could expect that to hit Texas anytime soon and he said it would be pretty soon. It's supposed to be Enjoy By 12.21.12 aka the end of the world, but I haven't seen anything official by Stone. That would be bad ass though.
