This bears repeating, the Backroads is excellent get some while it's on. Haven't tried the helles yet, have a fill of it waiting.

Made my first visit today. And was highly impressed. I've been pondering the type of brewery I'd like to operate one day and it's basically this one. Simple, intimate tasting room, subtle farmhouse touches, family-like vibe, beautiful setting, and straightforward, expressive styles with a notable German influence. The staff could not have been nicer. Tried the Pils, the Helles, and Homespun. Based on those, I've already decided to change my return route so I can swing back by. This has rapidly climbed the list into my top 5 favorites.

If you want to get away from the IPA craze, laid-back, top notch beers across styles then this is the place.

Truth. Last night I shared a bottle of Call to Mind and goddamn that shit is unbelievable. I also had the double and triple IPA collabs from OH/Trillium/Monkish that a buddy of mine lined up for at 5am and they're not even close. Different styles of course, but the nuance and depth of flavor you get in basically every one of these Suarez beers (even the hoppy ones) eclipses that of like every IPA I've ever had from OH, Trillium, Tired Hands, et al (Tree House is the one exception). The fact that you have hundreds of people lining up for IPAs at all these places - OH, Tree House, Tired Hands, Equilibrium, fucking Magnify for chrissakes - every week and this sort of absolute deliciousness sticks around for months at the brewery is crazy to me.

@Nickwierda preach! it's a fad. these juice IPA's are a fad and will pass. if you are only drinking IPA, you are at a serious loss. a great saison or great pils are wonderful and complex tenfold compare to these DDH line building beers.

I mean the good thing is that there's more for us, amirite? Just kinda sad to see all the money in this industry going to brewers who slap together copy and paste IPAs every week that all taste basically the same. I'm not trying to be harsh - I used to be one of those IPA-crazed neckbeards, and I still love a good hazy IPA here and there. I think tree house really does brew amazing hoppy beers, and it's nice to have a 4-pack of OH or Trillium in the fridge every now and then.

But the fact that these places, who've built their entire business models on producing the same exact flavor profiles week after week after week under the guise of different names and sticker labels, are just raking in the dough, while breweries like Suarez and Carton and the like do well but are by no means getting rich, despite their creativity - and their superior beer - is silly.

I guess that happens in a lot of industries, though, right? I'm just glad that these guys keep pumping out amazing beer and that I can get it without having to stress or stand in line for six fucking hours.

I was up there Friday afternoon and at one point I was the only person in the tap room. I was a little dumbfounded when I thought about it compared to what was surrounding the OH release happing the next day.

I like IPAs and buy plenty of them (hit up Sloop that afternoon for some and I'm currently planning up an IPA brew), but I do agree that they are relatively one dimensional.

After having a Backroads, one of the best beers I've had regardless of style, I left thinking that for me there is absolutely no reason to stand in line for hours for any beer.

It sure is becoming harder to find “nuance and depth” in many IPA’s; however, Suarez is coming from one of the best, if not the best, hop producers out there. Regardless of his own stance on the category, the sophistication and delicacy coming from his former comrade are in a class of their own; some of the best representations of single hops one can come across, and some of the most elaborate DIPA’s on the market.

That being said, it’s hard to believe that some/many make that trek without ever consuming or considering one of the best Pilsners, and even the recently adopted Helles: Mary and Marie. Now with Dan, one doesn’t have that problem; one will never make the mistake of leaving without trying one of his super crisp, clean, and refreshingly harmonized pils/helles/lagers…because with Suarez, that’s why one makes that trek to begin with

Visited for a 2nd time this weekend, had Homespun and Ms. Frank, and picked up a bottle of 100 North Vintage for later. Enjoyed those beers, but not quite as much as Bones Shirt, Hecto, and Round the Bend that I got last time.

Also hit up Sloop and Keegan for a couple beers, and stopped at The Anchor in Kingston for good burgers based on a local's recommendation. I was surprised it wasn't in the BA database as they had a taplist with a lot of great NY and VT beers. I've added it to the Places approval queue.

Popped in and grabbed some today. Was told (if I remember correctly) that Palatine Pils would be the next one canned. This is exactly what I needed this summer: 16oz cans of pils to crush.

HOLY FUCK. Never thought I'd see the day. This is something I'd stand in line for. Actually am very curious as to whether there will be lines for this stuff on a consistent basis. 16oz sticker cans of "hyped" pils? I hope for them yes, hope for me no.

X2, I take back any and all past comments I may or may not have made about not standing in line for beer!

I really hope this doesn't explode the taproom with lines and crowds. It's a lovely, quaint little place where you can go enjoy delicious beers. I hope by just putting these perfect beers into a can doesn't ruin that.

I think we'll be fine re lines and other craziness. Imagine Tree House only sold cans of Eureka, Trail Magic, and Single Shot. No lines.

I think we'll be fine as well. Increased traffic - possibly, craziness of a hazy juicy IPA release - I don't think so.

This announcement of cans was low key in itself, plus on a weekday.
