Great call. Came to mind but wanted to stick to OP's preference of no flavor additions. That said, definitely one of my favorite brown ales. Cheers!

Awesome, but I think the OP is looking for some conversational suggestions, not just a list.

Another for Smuttynose Old Brown Dog Ale. I love it, and I really don't like that many brown ales.

I haven't seen anyone suggest Nebraska Brewing Nut Brown Ale. I'm sure it's been mentioned 20 times but I'll add to those recommending Rogue's Hazelnut Brown. While not technically American, Sam Smith's Nut Brown Ale is fairly easy to find in the states and is quite good.

I'm not a big fan of Brown Ales but the best I have ever had is Pretty Things Saint Botolph's Town and Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale. If you want something more hop forward, Smuttynose Old Brown Dog Ale, Smuttynose Durty, or DFH Indian Brown Ale are pretty good.

Oh, forgot to mention DFH Palo Santo Marron which is absolutely PHENOMENAL but I wouldn't put it in this category.

DFH makes a couple of Brown Ales I liked
Rogue Hazelnut Brown is very good
For English Brown Sammy Smith's Nut Brown Ale is my go to.

Bells best brown is amazing, but not in season. Just had a bells jupiter, and it was as good if not better (and should be available for at least the next month)

I'll add another vote for the Rogue Hazelnut Brown. I know people on this forum hate on Rogue a lot, but it's honestly one of my favorite beers.

So I went to Total Wine and made a six pack. I got Smuttynose, Rogue Hazelnut, Avery Ellies, Sam Smith, Hebrew messiah nut brown, and Brooklyn. Passed on dogfish because IBUs, passed on Abita because price. Thanks to all for your ideas.

Now. Any suggestions for sequence to drink them in? I am thinking to hold off on the Sam Smith because English, and the Rogue because hazlenut.
