For me often yes, depending on what I am getting. Everyone has their own idea of value.

I've used many.. all depends what you want.

    pfft.. I wish :grinning:

I consider any beer shipped to me either by trade or if I were to ever order it from an online store to be as much of a hobby as having good beer to drink. I can go to the grocery store in my town or the local bottle shop and get plenty of "world class" beer to drink with no shipping cost. I've accepted that any beer I trade for or order will have associated shipping cost that I consider an expense of my hobby of trying lots of different beer from different breweries.

Is it "worth" it? If you like craft beer and want something specific it's worth it. If you are spending money to ship beer instead of feeding your kids or paying your rent, probably not.

I have purchased from two places out of Minneapolis with fantastic results. If they have what you're looking for, it's a lot easier than trading and usually the same for shipping.

In my experience, once that bottle of beer you can't otherwise get is being poured into a glass and down your throat, the last thing on your mind are shipping costs.

I hope that helps answer your question :grinning:

You're going to pay shipping if you trade for out-of-market beers and it's a hell of a lot less trouble. I haven't bought online in a few years but all of my experiences were good. I would be shocked if you found any coupon codes.

Yes, most online beer stores won't ship to those states.

I definitely like buying beer online that I can't find in my area. The shipping is just as much as trading with someone and you can select what you want. I've ordered from:

    -Ace Liquors (MN)
    -CraftBeerKings (CA)
    -CraftShack (CA)

    Pleased with all 3

I do when I can afford it. Yes, shipping is ridiculous, but I suppose it's a necessary evil if you want your beer still in the bottle when it arrives. I've only used West Lakeview, but I've found some good stuff on Quality Liquor Store recently. Come on, payday!

And yes, there are several stores that won't ship to certain states due to state law. Other websites leave it up to you as a customer to be farmiliar with your local laws and regulations on shipping and receiving alcohol.

    OK, here's what you do:

    1. Search this forum, there's a bunch of threads that discuss on-line beer purchasing sites
    2. Sign up with the ones that get good ratings
    3. Several of them (especially during the holiday's, store anniversary date's, etc) will have reduced or even free shipping
    4. Go friggin nuts
    5. Thank me later

Looks like this thread got merged, with older threads in the same vein, which is logical and cool...

Craftshack is good if you give them your email so you can get access to limited release stuff and don't mind spending $30+ on shipping.
