I'm planning on leaving for Myrtle Beach on Monday from Indianapolis and was looking for some suggestions on quality bottle shops, brew pubs, or restaurants. Based on the hotel reservations, they classify where I'm staying as "North Myrtle Beach."

    I appreciate any advice.

    Thanks.

Piggly Wiggly @ Market Commons. It's a solid 20min away in south myrtle but well worth the drive! There's a growler filling station (6 taps) and always some westbrook/coast stuff hanging around, along with the usual suspects.

    Cheers!

Go the The Myrtle Beach Craft Beer web sight, they list everything from bars to beverage outlets. If you drive from N MB to Common Market you'll hate yourself and waste lots of time sitting in traffic. You shouldn't have to come any further South than Barefoot Landing.

Lots of growler fills stations up and down the beach. We stay in Garden City so the Pig is close, both in Common Market and Murrels Inlet. I wouldn't drive from N MB to S MB for a $50 this time in the summer.

I think I may try the Piggly Wiggly as soon as I get there and then just spend the rest of my time closer to the hotel. Growler stations in a supermarket are so damn cool.

Is Mexican Cake still a possibility or is it all gone by now?

Call the pig, but as heavy as they're shopped I would doubt they would have any.

Not sure if your already this way, But Mexican Cake is done as of today. If you are interested whats on tap at the Pig you can check "Byrd's Beer at the Pig" on Facebook. He keeps it up to date. I know Westbrook Poppin Pils and Ballast Point Sea Monster went on earlier.

I went to the Piggly in Market Common yesterday and got the last growler. At least that's what the guy who filled it said.

    It's a wonderful beer
