When bottles leave my possession regardless of trade, BIF, or just the kindness of my heart...

    A. I don't care what happens with them from that point forward
    B. I dont expect anything in return (except agreed upon trades)

if you want to give them away fine, butt chug them fine, hoard them for years fine, drink them all the day you get them fine. they are yours now.

There are people in this thread who have sent me beer that I haven't been able to return fire to yet. There are people I've sent beer to that I've never heard from again. That's just what happens when beers are traveling in all directions. I understand it. Being patient and having no expectations is important.

I was all set to type something up very similar to this, I think the intent with that bottle plays a role as well, which is hard to know as the recipient. Personally, I put a LOT of thought into what goes into a BIF box, though I know many others do not, so while those beers are theirs to do with as they please, I would be a little bummed if I saw them get flipped, because I know there was a specific reason I sent it, and "for future ammo" was not that reason.

I also get what @ColdOne said about "wouldn't you feel good that you helped them get something they wanted"; well, yes, I would, but I would be happier knowing that what I sent was what they wanted, if it's something I put thought into. I also agree with your point that if you got quantity (a sixer for example) then by all means a couple of them can find their way elsewhere, spreading the love is awesome.

With that said, LIF winnings and even ninja boxes can sometimes just be "the beer I've got" more so than what that particular person might want, so I wouldn't care so much. I know it's a little unfair to expect the recipient to read my mind whether it's a bottle I wanted them to have, or just a "commodity" beer, but whether my feelings are hurt or not doesn't have to be perfectly rational.

I also think it depends a lot on what the person is doing with the beer they've received. If they're flipping it for gain (not that anyone in here does many ISO:FT deals hoping to get more than they gave, anyway) then that's definitely shitty. A fair deal falls under @ColdOne's point. If they're giving it away for a song (same as if it's a donation LIF box or to share with someone else in-thread), I assume there's got to be a reason, and whatever that reason is is definitely good enough for me.

Random question but is anyone out there a mobile developer? I don't think there is in this group but I figured I'd ask in case there may be a lurker out there that is.

There's a lot of development in South Carolina for mobile homes. Is that what you mean?

SO, I ended up drinking 3 KBS and 2 CBS and having a DQ Blizzard for dinner.

I'd consider that a successful night.

    Good topic @bostonbeans

I'll say this first, any bottle I send anyone for any reason they can do with as they wish: trade or gift or ninja someone else or drink

That being said I try to be careful with beers I get from here and this site in general. Like a good example is @XmnwildX12 sent me a lif and in it was a New Glarus Peach. My friend d has one and is going to open it with me so I wanted to send this to another BA who would enjoy it. Would that be ok? Now if I tried to trade it for a VR that would be shady so I refrain from it but if the guy I send it to wants to do that I have no issues with it. If you can flip the beer I gave you for a better beer or one you would rather drink I'm glad to have been able to help.

You know, it was the Blizzard of the month, Salted Caramel Turtle. Was solid, but they used chocolate ice cream. For me, a blizzard is a vanilla ice cream base or bust. Kind of a disappointment.

Kristen REALLY wanted it, and that was why she was talked into going to the beer event. She liked it even less than me.

Thanks for the reply guys. I talked stuff over and we're all good. It does put a lot of things in perspective as to what we can and can't do with given beer. Honestly at the end of the day, it's your beer to do what you please with it.

My fellow SWTFYW brother and I cried a little and came to conclusion it was all a big mix up.

I will say, if I see any of you ass hats moving those FFs I sent you, I will personally C*nt Punt you.

So - work has decided to send me off to STL May 20th-21st. My planning may make it last through the 22nd or 23rd. I mean who doesnt want to go to STL and eat Shark Tacos (bc Stl is surrounded by Ocean) at Sybergs and shit your brains out for 3 weeks after. But jokes aside I hope @Tertullian007 and I can meet up at SP Cellar and get a selfie together

There are fewer things in this world that I would rather do then put my arm around you and Seth. Not in a gay way, just in a hey way.

I leave work at 3:30 and SP opens at 3. The gods are smiling on us. My housewarming is May 16th, also my birthday. It may turn into a bottle share. I will likely have just recovered by Thursday.
