I might have to leave work early on Friday and head to Brooklyn. Is it wrong if I tell my boss that my daughter is sick and I have to take her to the doctor?

if i can get a day off for this you can too...

...please note previous comment is based on nothing but a fantasy so far, but this is my plan...or showing up at 7pm.

i was thinking of this plan too...but that won't work on my wife...
can i tell this to work and tell my wife that my work got sick so i have to stay late to help get it to the doctor? if that works, you think she'd get mad to have to drive me to the train station to get my car the next morning (thinking i can tell her that someone stole it when i was at the dr office with work...they felt guilty so they texted me the info of where it was, but i accidentally reset my phone to factory defaults (again) so no proof of text. a co-worked lived near the train station so they gave me a lift after the dr office). sounds plausible to me.

    Man, you're long winded!

Just tell her you're going. It's only a feeling. She'll get over it.

Why so negative? Of course, opening day(and probably all weekend) is going to be crazy but with his connections it's likely that they'll have a constant rotation of amazing, very limited beers. Also, it will be nice to be able to try Evil Twin beers without having to pay top dollar for the bottles.

I decided to peek inside on my way to Split Thy Skull on Saturday. A spot right around the corner from G train station. Renovation was still on full swing and the place did not look all that big inside to me but then I only had a split second to peek inside. In any case, I'm expecting this will be a big hit and a great beer stop in the near future.

still toying with this idea (or a leave early day).

am hoping to be there but might be in the afternoon/evening crowd if it doesn't sound like it is too insane.

Yeah I can't take the day. My plan is to get there around 5:30 if it's not insane. If it is, I plan on heading over Saturday

Damn. Was planning on heading up Friday morning, but they are inducing a co-worker's wife tonight, and I'll be filling in for him for the next week; thus, my workload has doubled. Oh well, I guess we'll be toasting to the baby's arrival instead.

Just fired the requisite email off to the bossman. See you all Friday at noon (or earlier, if anyone else plans on hitting Peter Pan for some donuts pre-beer drinking).

Honestly, I hope its expensive enough that the supply lasts longer than the opening weekend...
