Has anyone been to T&V lately? Ill be visiting the area soon and am looking to get some beers i cant get in VA...Here are some breweries im looking to try while there...if youve been to T&V lately and know what beers from these breweries let me know i appreciate it Alesmith Arcadia Berkshire Boulevard Ithacha Jolly Pumpkin Lost Abbey Short's Southampton Thomas Hooker (mainly looking for Liberator)
Haven't been there recently but a quick tip about Short's. We got beers a couple times in the past from them because they had a temporary distribution license for the BA fests here. I remember the second shipment we got was an old pallet that MD couldn't move so someone dumped it here. Avoid any Short's beers if you find them.
Id check out wormtown, pretty things, clown shoes, blatant, Mayflower. There are others but this list is based on what table and vine carries. You would do yourself very well if you are lucky enough to stop in there while they have a Maine offering on the shelf. Its hit or miss.
Not sure that's 100% reliable. I saw a couple of beers I know haven't been made for a while, then there's entries like this: http://www.tableandvine.com/catalog/product/20077/03M100NY049XX37.html To the OP, put Ipswich on your list.
I was there two weekends ago and they had a bunch of Jolly Pumpkin and Lost Abbey. I can't remember about the others you asked for, probably because I was so excited to get my hands on some Oro de Calabaza and Red Poppy.
1) Hoponious Union by Jacks Abby 2) Jack D'Or by Pretty Things 3) Anything by Slumbrew 4) Clownshoes stouts 5) Mystic Saisons
I have had more luck lately at Yankee Spirits. Last time I was there they had a full compliment of Founders, Speedway Stout, Flower Power. I got so sick and tired of going to T&V and seeing empty shelves.
Lately, I agree with you. They have been lacking inventory in breweries that I've been in to lately (Founders, Firestone Walker, Dark Horse, ect.)
I was there on Sunday. Alesmith - Yes Arcadia - Not Sure Berkshire - Yes Boulevard - Yes Ithacha - Yes Jolly Pumpkin - Yes Lost Abbey - Yes Short's - Not Sure Southampton - Not Sure Thomas Hooker (mainly looking for Liberator) - Not Sure. Hope this helps.
I work for T&V, and I can tell you theres no more arcadia, only 1 type of shorts, and currently no liberator. Also, wednesdays are our craft delivery days, so thats always the day to call and find out what is new.
Right up the road in Easthampton is Trubeer. http://trubeer.com/ Best selection in the area, all sold as singles. Website is updated daily, you can search for any beer by name or brewery and it will tell you if it's in stock and the price. Owners are super helpful and if you call they'd probably hold something for you.
I like the people and beer at trubeer and consider it an excellent store, but it should be noted they do American beer only - not a problem for me as there are other local spots for the other stuff, but if you're just passing through don't stop there looking for Belgians.
At Russell's in Amherst looks like some speedway, imperial stout trooper, jp maracaibo, few bottles of poppy, dark horse double crooked, founders, and I've heard cascade vine and sang noir on Friday.
Second the Clown Shoes recommendation. If they have Flight of the Pimp, grab it. Blaecorn and Vampire Slayer are excellent as well.
