Bottle shares aren't about .rar whales dick waving. The best bottle shares I have thrown and been to have had a sort of loose theme and then if you can't go with that or just want to share something that isn't local, tough to find.. or even compare it to something else, that's cool.

Been working on one for Downtown area (still working on securing a place) that is basically themed "Your Bruery left overs". Cause we all know if you're a society member, you got a shit ton of beer that is sitting there not being drank. And if you don't have Bruery stuff, just bring whatever you have been meaning to bust open but haven't had a chance to.

Shooting for the 17th, location pending.

 

I've always been a bit intimidated by the whole bottle share thing precisely because I don't trade for out of market stuff, or have anything rare to bust out for people. I do have a lot of Bruery beers though, and am located in DTLA, so I'd be down for something in the area.

I will definitely join in on a Buery left overs share, especially on the 17th. And I won't even force Praecocia on anyone.

I've been doing small beer shares in Atwater for a year or so, many ride over and pick up something random at Bill's or 55 Degree to supplement whatever I have in addition to what my solid homebrewer friend David brings.

 

I saw 38 Degrees post their next bottle share #9 on Facebook. It's going to be on Saturday, November 30th. I was actually sitting at the bar the day of bottle share #8 and was chatting with the bartender. She said it's pretty chill, casual and fun.

 

gonna try and make it out to the 38 Degrees bottleshare. a few folks at woodshop told me it's always a good time

 

38 Degrees bottle share is really chill. One of my favorite shares. I've only missed one or two since they started.

Yeah that last tasting was trouble. I think the reason that it's taken so long to get the next one going is that we're still all in recovery...

I briefly mentioned our bottle shares to Jimmy at Beer Belly once and he seemed receptive to it, but I'm still skeptical of gathering there due to space constraints. Granted, their back patio is up and running, so maybe this would make things a bit easier.

Would be great to have it at a spot with awesome food though. The bacon cheeseburger on a waffle I got at Little Bear last time was on point!

@Earlycsquid - Any updates on venues yet? Seems kinda tough to pick a date without knowing where we're going yet. Let me know if you need any help.

 

I know we haven't been to a bottle share in awhile, but is this what they are like nowadays? I'm amazed to see things are this organized. Lining tastes up. Do people really do that?
