I think it has most to do with the final mile delivery service they are using in the area.

In my area they still allow home delivery from what I can tell. But let me check for sure.

However, Tavour unilaterally decided to move my shipping date from April 14 to April 20 without giving an explanation. I had some nice IPAs in my crate and wanted them as soon as possible. Sure it's only a few days but still annoying. At least a reason would have been nice. Or an apology. Instead they are like "Now you have more time to put stuff in your crate!".

Did anybody else's shipment get pushed back?

I've been too cheap, so far at least.

I pushed mine back from April 7th to 14th. It should go out today. I haven't received word otherwise. I added a couple IPAs this past week, so a pushed date would not be okay.

Sounds like they are a week behind where they should be. Maybe something to do with increased demand now that most are at home?

My personal rule is: I can't open a new box unless there are two highly sought-after beers for me available at once. In this past case, it was two Ale Apothecary bottles. I've found with this rule, and how fast some of the beers sell out, it keeps me from ordering much more.

I wouldn't be too surprised if that's the case. It also makes me wonder how individual relations with couriers and such are going. With other businesses shut down - are private couriers shutting down?

Hope you and I can get our boxes soon enough. I feel bad for spending so much not on local beer, but my box also includes some major wants.

Will update, but switched mine from business address to home. Ya know, since I'm home all the time now and don't want to have to drive to the office for beer - kinda defeats the purpose of low-contact beer purchases. I haven't received push-back on it yet, but my box isn't set to ship until today.

I downloaded the app just to see what all the hullabaloo was, in the first thing I see is $75 for two 2014 vintage B bomb and Dark Star. I was unimpressed. All the ipas are wait-listed. So I can either buy old beer or no beer at all.

They did the same thing with mine. Im assuming they are just overloaded with orders now that everyone is at home.

My crate was also pushed from shipping last week to this week by Tavour without explanation. Ok fine they're understandably busy, but then yesterday they changed my shipping date again.

I don't care if they're busy, changing a date with no communication and then doing it a second time a week later with a lame notification stating "now you can buy more beer from us!" is crappy service. It's mostly fresh IPAs in the crate.

Oh wow, they pushed the date back twice? That is not cool. Does anyone know how they store all their beers? Do they have cold warehouses or are they just sitting in room temp all these weeks?

Unclear on storage but I've ordered a crate a month for the last 8 months and had zero issues with quality.
Plus, I appreciate the fact that they include the packaged on date in almost every offer.

Very true. I have been keeping an eye on the packaging dates, which like you mentioned are usually listed. I'm glad to hear that you had good experiences with the quality.

That's weird - you should try reaching out to them. They've been pretty quick to respond when Ive reached out. I don't buy many IPAs from them, but I would be pretty annoyed by your situation if I did.

Everyone is impressed by different things. Tavour is an easy way to collect vintage bottles without having to haggle for trades or participate in the secondary market. Plus, offerings change a lot. They sale Ale Apothecary for nearly retail, which are some of my favorite sours. Good place to occasionally pick those up. Then there are weeks where they release nothing of interest.

Otherwise, and as has been expressed in this thread, beers are being waitlisted much faster with COVID-19. Prior, there would be beers out for several days that were still available, now some of them are going in hours or less.

@The_Kriek_Freak my shipping date was pushed back one day. Kinda interesting. Hopefully it leaves the warehouse tomorrow. Got some special stuff that I'm really looking forward to trying.

So you mean to tell me that these vintage bottles are not being considered sold as a secondary Market?

As secondary as a retail shop holding onto vintage bottles.

I'll add my two cents about the older Fremont beers. I've enjoyed their BA beers overall though 5 years seems like its past prime for most things aside from barleywines and lambics. I'm all for 1-2 year old bottles but 5 just seems like too much of a gamble. Feel free to change my mind though- does anyone have insight on Dark Star or B-bomb with that much age?
