I’ve had missed bottles in the past, mysteriously the rarer ones, but Tavour always refunded or replaced when possible, and generally speaking most of the time it’s been a good experience for me… until today.
My crate that I had been building for months was “delivered and signed for” today. The only problem is one of the two boxes was delivered to my neighbors house and was never signed for, left out in the 9 degree weather. Thankfully the neighbor happened to come home for lunch and saw this!
The other, when asked the delivery service about it, was then updated to show it was back with them, followed shortly by an email saying the package was damaged and was undeliverable. This box had about 80% of the order and all of the nice bottles.
I sent an email to Tavour explaining all of this, including a picture of what I did receive and a list of everything that was missing. As of now I have not heard back yet… the wait begins! Depending how they handle this I might be done with them

I did reload the app a few weeks ago just to watch what went across my feed. A few interesting things but the prices again are why I have never made a purchase and won’t. After reading too many stories of poor deliveries and the such I would never make a purchase. Good luck to everyone. Rather take my chances waking into a shop and making a random purchase.

    Enjoy

    If you're in California;

Disregard horror stories. I ordered a buncha shit and after i closed they used GLS and it was at.my door in 2 days after closing. GLS is a well regarded carrier here. Mind you, i only used it once cuz i felt like a fucking fool paying the price i did for the worst stouts i have had in my life and mediocre IPAs and Lagers ( stuff i would never get but felt pressure cuz i wanted more beer in my crate) .

Tl;Dr California is on point , from my 1 and done purchase, and it was 5/5 service for me.

In my opinion , they are thieves and deserve to burn. If i lived in a land locked state that had shit beer though, id prolly use them.

See, gls is our local carrier as well and they eat ass. My last lost crate was on GLS end, and when I called and asked they said that the crate never made it to them. Meanwhile Tavour was telling me not only was the package in the possession of gls but it was out for delivery. Somehow GLS was wrong and Tavour was right. How the hell was TAVOUR right?

For those having trouble: I hope it works out in the end.

For Tavour: I have no idea the national logistics of shipping a dangerous, subversive, terrible product like beer, but they need to sort out this local shipping angle. While it certainly sounds like Tavour has sinned in the customer service arena more than once, a lot of the complaints are about delivery. The only complaint I've had (knock on wood) is the crappy local delivery service in my area, but thankfully Tavour has since changed to another carrier that appears to be a real business.

Seems like if they sort the delivery nonsense there would be a lot less unhappy customers.

Agree with all of the above. I really hope these folks get satisfaction.

My local carriers, now ups, have been fine. Tavour has always been prompt in their responses to me. As for price, well, I live in Pennsylvania, the land of outstanding distribution and very high prices. I can drive four hours to the beach and get beer from breweries 30 minutes from my house for less money. It isn't uncommon for Tavour to offer beer for less than I can get it for locally. Plus there just aren't enough barleywines around here.

The saga continues... One of the two boxes in my shipment arrived at my home today. All bottles appear intact, although I do wonder where this box has been sitting throughout the past month. I took video opening the box and documenting every single bottle that was included, just to be safe.

As far as the second box... I called the local courier service. They have been great and responsive throughout the process. They assure me that they only received one of the boxes, and that they agree there is still a box outstanding for me. They told me "some of the boxes arrived damaged and Tavour would be reaching out about those" and also that there was still a couple more pallets of boxes yet to arrive. Which group might my second box fall in? Only time will tell.

The tracking information on the Tavour app simply cannot be trusted. My crate closed Dec 27 and was supposedly shipped Dec 29. The app actually said it left Tavour on Dec 29 for nearly a week, and then suddenly it changed to say it left Tavour on Jan 5. The app also says my boxes arrived at the local delivery service on Jan 20, but there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that is wrong, and that they actually received my first box just last night on Jan 26, based on the multiple conversations I have had with the very kind people who work there.

Also, my emails to Tavour last week and earlier this week have still gone unanswered.

It sucks that Tavour doesn't take any responsibility for any of this. I understand they have to use local couriers, and that some of these mistakes are the fault of local couriers, but it sucks that Tavour doesn't even communicate with costumers.

FWIW, I was impressed with my latest order, but there are enough horror stories here that I may be deleting my account soon. The prospect of them adding beers to my crate and billing me to remove them outweighs the small chance they upload ADWTD TO.

When you call you get a message that directs you to use their customer service email "for faster service", but it does then give an option for leaving a VM. Several months ago I left a VM on a separate issue and they ended up replying to the email, so I don't think I have ever actually talked to anybody there.

I could layer a VM on top of my outstanding emails, I suppose...

On a positive note the follow feature on the updated app seems to you cause your favorite breweries to always show up in your feed I think

As previously stated, this happened to me twice in one box. 8 total bottles. One was a bundle of 3 bombers. The other a bundle of 5 375mls. Each time I told them refund me for the damaged bottles, but please still send what didn't break. They fully refunded (to their credit) but told me all bottles were lost.....you're telling me you broke 8 bottles? How? I don't buy that....and if true, well, that's a-whole-other problem.

My localish delivery service likes to try and deliver on a Friday at 8am while I'm at work. They will not leave it without a signature, so then I have to hope I'm off the following Monday or Tuesday to sign for it. So far I haven't exceeded the 3 day threshold, but its still annoying. I've since deleted the app but wish I had bought more than 1 blessed b2! That beer was fire!

Had my first ever "Sorry, we don't have these bottles..." but happy for me it was two bottles I didn't really give a whit about & was really buying for me coffee-crazed wife. She'll never know since I never told her I bought them.

Big box will be headed my way later this week. Looking forward to it!

Fingers crossed on that big box arriving here in MN on schedule and unscathed!

I got hit with that "sorry" 3 different times on my most recent crate. It was frustrating, but not nearly as much as the shipping issues I have been having.

Still waiting on 21 bottles that were originally sent in December. Latest update was an email from Tavour just last week saying the box was damaged in transit, but would still be delivered. I was supposed to tell them what bottles were and weren't damaged upon arrival for a refund, which surprised me but I was fine with that.

I called the local carrier to confirm, and they were very clear that a bunch of Tavour boxes arrived in the same shipment damaged/leaking (maybe frozen during transit?) and that they sent all of those boxes BACK to Tavour since they did not want to be responsible for accepting and delivering damaged boxes and have them leaking all over their vehicles. I 100% would have done the same thing.

So, I immediately sent an email back to Tavour last week letting them know what I had been informed by the local carrier, and asking what they planned to do when the boxes arrived back at Tavour (since they need a game plan for me and everyone else this affected). I did not hear back, so I sent another email again yesterday asking the same question. Still no word from Tavour.

Well, I finally have an issue with them. Ordered four bottles of Atrial and only two showed up. Tried calling them, they used to answer the phone, but now it's just leave a voicemail so to hell with that. Hoping they'll just refund me without too much hassle, I expect these bottles are gone already and I don't want to start another crate for a while.

It's no different than trading or buying from any other online shop.

Lots of great beer out there in general, but it can be fun to access things not in your market. Especially if it's things people trade for higher than cost and/or you don't get to travel to other markets often enough.

It takes a really sought after beer for me to start a crate though.

How relevant is tavour now? The last three beers on my thread are available through halftime. Best damn beer has bottle logic, Fremont BA beers etc as well. Why wait to buy what tavour offers me when I can just buy new bottles as they drop on those sites?

I like tavours variety and the ability to slowly accumulate before shipping cheaply. But I've used other sites and individual breweries this winter and had good experiences.

Best damn beer shop needs to clean up their website. Searching Fremont yields 50 tantalizing selections. All but 4 show as sold out after clicking on them. If it's sold out get it off site.

For as much as I complain about Anchorage's pricing, they are still $30 cheaper on Tavour than others online shops. Of course, if Tavour ups their price to other online shops, it undercuts 60%+ of my reason to maintain a Tavour account.

I think your post emphasizes exactly why I order crates so far and few between. It takes a big want, or at least two very large medium wants, for me to start a crate. Lately, I have had zero interest in starting a crate. There have been some quality sounding coffee stouts (perhaps a top two in style preference for me), but I'm not starting a crate for any of them. If I had a crate going, then these would have been tempting to add.

I'm not @HalfTime, but that looks like a typo. $20/4 pack in MSP if I recall correctly, & I've bought a few of them. Grab a few if you're jonesing for it, I doubt anyone will ever see it cheaper.

I've wandered through the Half Time Beverage website a few times & everything there seems to be expensive. Just glancing right now I see big mark-ups on Hopslam, KBS, & others. I'd have to want something pretty badly to pay a 30% markup or more!
