Tavour has a problems. Six my orders was canceled with refund. "Hello xxxx, We are reaching out with an update for one of your orders. Unfortunately, due to an inventory issue in our facility we are unable to fulfil your order of xxxx...."
As previously stated, this happened to me twice in one box. 8 total bottles. One was a bundle of 3 bombers. The other a bundle of 5 375mls. Each time I told them refund me for the damaged bottles, but please still send what didn't break. They fully refunded (to their credit) but told me all bottles were lost.....you're telling me you broke 8 bottles? How? I don't buy that....and if true, well, that's a-whole-other problem.
My localish delivery service likes to try and deliver on a Friday at 8am while I'm at work. They will not leave it without a signature, so then I have to hope I'm off the following Monday or Tuesday to sign for it. So far I haven't exceeded the 3 day threshold, but its still annoying. I've since deleted the app but wish I had bought more than 1 blessed b2! That beer was fire!
Had my first ever "Sorry, we don't have these bottles..." but happy for me it was two bottles I didn't really give a whit about & was really buying for me coffee-crazed wife. She'll never know since I never told her I bought them. Big box will be headed my way later this week. Looking forward to it!
Fingers crossed on that big box arriving here in MN on schedule and unscathed! I got hit with that "sorry" 3 different times on my most recent crate. It was frustrating, but not nearly as much as the shipping issues I have been having. Still waiting on 21 bottles that were originally sent in December. Latest update was an email from Tavour just last week saying the box was damaged in transit, but would still be delivered. I was supposed to tell them what bottles were and weren't damaged upon arrival for a refund, which surprised me but I was fine with that. I called the local carrier to confirm, and they were very clear that a bunch of Tavour boxes arrived in the same shipment damaged/leaking (maybe frozen during transit?) and that they sent all of those boxes BACK to Tavour since they did not want to be responsible for accepting and delivering damaged boxes and have them leaking all over their vehicles. I 100% would have done the same thing. So, I immediately sent an email back to Tavour last week letting them know what I had been informed by the local carrier, and asking what they planned to do when the boxes arrived back at Tavour (since they need a game plan for me and everyone else this affected). I did not hear back, so I sent another email again yesterday asking the same question. Still no word from Tavour.
Well, I finally have an issue with them. Ordered four bottles of Atrial and only two showed up. Tried calling them, they used to answer the phone, but now it's just leave a voicemail so to hell with that. Hoping they'll just refund me without too much hassle, I expect these bottles are gone already and I don't want to start another crate for a while.
Seems like a ripoff to me. Know many people who use(d) it and can’t seem to understand why. So much good beer that I can get, no reason to pay astronomical prices lol.
It's no different than trading or buying from any other online shop. Lots of great beer out there in general, but it can be fun to access things not in your market. Especially if it's things people trade for higher than cost and/or you don't get to travel to other markets often enough. It takes a really sought after beer for me to start a crate though.
Ya, I understand. Just not something for me. Would rather support the local places and/or spend less.
How relevant is tavour now? The last three beers on my thread are available through halftime. Best damn beer has bottle logic, Fremont BA beers etc as well. Why wait to buy what tavour offers me when I can just buy new bottles as they drop on those sites?
I like tavours variety and the ability to slowly accumulate before shipping cheaply. But I've used other sites and individual breweries this winter and had good experiences. Best damn beer shop needs to clean up their website. Searching Fremont yields 50 tantalizing selections. All but 4 show as sold out after clicking on them. If it's sold out get it off site.
For as much as I complain about Anchorage's pricing, they are still $30 cheaper on Tavour than others online shops. Of course, if Tavour ups their price to other online shops, it undercuts 60%+ of my reason to maintain a Tavour account. I think your post emphasizes exactly why I order crates so far and few between. It takes a big want, or at least two very large medium wants, for me to start a crate. Lately, I have had zero interest in starting a crate. There have been some quality sounding coffee stouts (perhaps a top two in style preference for me), but I'm not starting a crate for any of them. If I had a crate going, then these would have been tempting to add.
Best damn beer shop, well I know where to go in 2 months when I’m in San Diego, but holy hell the mark up on a lot of those and $130 for a basic Casey’s
You mentioned halftime, I see they have 4packs of BA Behemoth at $12.99?? Is that a typo @HalfTime ? I paid more than double that!
I'm not @HalfTime, but that looks like a typo. $20/4 pack in MSP if I recall correctly, & I've bought a few of them. Grab a few if you're jonesing for it, I doubt anyone will ever see it cheaper. I've wandered through the Half Time Beverage website a few times & everything there seems to be expensive. Just glancing right now I see big mark-ups on Hopslam, KBS, & others. I'd have to want something pretty badly to pay a 30% markup or more!
