We just went to Teresa's expecting to drink Pliny, blind pig and hill farmstead double citra, but when we got there were told they took all those off for a Firestone walker event. We were a little upset but there was plenty other goodies on tap to make up for it. We go to order our first round and the bar tender tells us the whole draft system is down, no draft beer. They offered us to bottles of double jack on the house. We were stoked! The draft system wasn't fixed for another hour or so but they continued to offer us free union jack, racer 5, and torpedo's on the house as well as 4 baskets of pomme frites while we waited. They gave us over 100$ of free goods between the five of us. I can't express in words how grateful we were nd how much of a class act this was. There were easlilly 75 people there and despite no draft beer everyone drank for free and had huge smiles on their faces. Thanks so much Teresa's, you were already my favorite bar around but this just goes to show how amazing you guys really are. Ps once the beer started flowing the velvet merkin, and the wookie jack were fantastic.
    Thanks from all of us!!!

That was truly incredible what they did for us, without me even asking, just cracking open free bottles to keep us happy. I am also more appreciative than I can say and would encourage anyone to frequent this spot (and secretly hope the draft lines go down so you can get free beer).

That's awesome, but it doesn't surprise me at all. The two times I've been to Teresa's, the staff couldn't have been more pleasant.

Best bar in the Philly burbs, I reckon. Love going there. Try to go on Sundays as often as our money will permit! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, and they're good about getting to everyone even when they're packed for an event.

Yeah, it was really good of them to take care of us like that. Teresa's just keeps getting better and better. They certainly know how to handle a crowd. I've been there for a ton of events and they really manage them well, even when it's a madhouse (hill farmstead) or when the taps are down.

I took a few friends that were in town for Philly Beer Week to Teresa's one day after we'd been to TJ's for lunch. Nearly everything that was on the chalk board was out, and hadn't been replaced with anything else. It wasn't a special occasion or anything, so to speak, but I wanted to do something nice for my guests so I went to buy a bottle of Cantillon for them to split. One by one I went down the list and they didn't have any. They both looked at me like "I thought you said this was the place to go?" At any rate, I'd already ordered an iced tea since I was driving. They followed suit. Soon there after the bartender brought over a bottle of 3F's Kriek, opened it up, and poured it into some nice Cantillon stemware among the three of us. He apologized for then current lack of selection on draft and mentioned someone had just come in and cleaned them out of their Cantillon. A nice gesture indeed. I haven't been there but a few times, but things like that are certainly enough to bring me back. An unnecessary gesture that was well received.

I hope you guys tipped them well! I know when I go to my favorite bar they sometimes give me beers on the house. I just pay them with tips haha.

This is why we can't have nice things.

I've definitely run into the occasional beer on board is out in my many visits to Teresa's but never more than two in one visit and that's happened less than half of the times. Plus, it's usually for the most extra special beer on the board. This has happened to me on numerous occasions at other places to the point where I usually pick out a backup beer when I'm going down the list. Still, all the beers on the board is seems like a bit of an exaggeration, but if so it's definitely unacceptable but I can assure you that that would be an aberration for Teresa's.

One of the great things about TJ's is that I don't have to worry about that happening unless something literally just kicked.

They could've cleaned them out by drinking them in-house.

Teresa's is great. However, how DARE they run out of Wookey Jack before I got there on Tuesday.

They did not specify the manner in which the Cantillons went by the wayside, but we requested one after another in vain.

with the cantillons it's usually easier to just walk to the left side of the bar, look at the top shelf of the fridge. I've never seen it not have any Cantillon, but I agree the list in the beer bible is usually inaccurate.

...and I highly doubt that they were truly out of all of them as I was there shortly after beer week and had an Iris and noticed a few others in the fridge. No other local places that I'm aware of got any Cantillon in that time frame, not that I have knowledge of every place's orders or anything, but there are some usual suspects that always get a piece of shipments of the good stuff. They probably have some kind of weekly quota or something to help keep it in stock.

As far as takeout, I was there with Lauren when our bartender, who is always super friendly and helpful (yet I'm drawing a blank on his name) said that he was told by management that they were no longer selling any 'loons to go. However, we now have this story and the thread from earlier where bhir pointed out that the menu indicates that some 'loons are still available for takeout. At their prices, I wouldn't be buying a lot of them anyway, but I really just want to know what the deal is.

Agreed. I consider Teresa's to be the gold standard when it comes to quality beer bars in SEPA. There are places that will occassionally have a better tap list, and their prices are a bit on the high side, but that's really the only drawbacks (if you want to call them that) I can think of. Otherwise.... excellent food, great list, knowledgeable staff, good vibe... there are a couple of local places here in Baltimore that are trying to offer a similar experience, but invariably, when I compare their experience to what I routinely find at Teresa's, all those places fall well short.
