ehh. It's ok. Some good stuff but a lot of normal brews. I was hoping for more special brews since i got VIP passes.

Ah that makes sense. Well in that case the list looks good!

$30 to stand in line to drink 24 ounces of mostly shelf brews. Looks like a great time.

I just don't understand why so many of this state's beer festivals are scheduled outside and during the summer when there's a good chance it will be miserably hot.

The cynic in me says it's because there are fewer competing events and cheaper venue costs at those times.

I went to this event the first few years, but the $ and what you get for it just don't match up, so I've stopped. I don't blame the brewers or the organizers - the laws don't allow them to offer unlimited pours. But that doesn't mean I'm dropping $30 or more to get tiny tastes of beers that are almost all available at the store as well.

If we could just get all these damn laws changed....

I hear you...the entry fee certainly doesn't match what you get in return. I was lucky to get set up with free VIP tix this year through a friend so I'm feeling pretty good about that.

I'm a little disappointed that Brash isn't on the list, but there's plenty of other cool stuff to be excited about. Should be a great time as always.

The best thing about the Texas Craft Brewers Festival is that all proceeds go directly to the Texas Craft Brewers Guild. It is a major source is the Guild's income. The Guild's primary purpose is to improve Craft Beer in Texas, which is mainly done legislatively, which is expensive.

For anyone that would like to see the laws changed, attending this festival is actually a pretty decent way to work towards that goal. And you get beer!

We hope to see you there.

While I agree with you, with my wallet, it is for a good cause. Perhaps @jesterkingbeer got some inspiration from this event!

Right?!? I bet EZ-7 would be the first keg to kick.

I'm biased because this event raises money for the guild. With that said, I think it's cool how this event brings a lot of brewers across Texas to one location for a day, and creates a nice opportunity for brewers and beer drinkers to interact and talk about beer and brewing. - Jeff

Anyone have a VIP ticket they're looking to sell? Unexpectedly available. I'll give you my GA and pay the difference. Heck, I'll even throw in a can of Surly Furious

Look for the Big Hops crew. My boss may have an extra ticket.

Hot as hell today, but a very nice festival. VIP was great as brewers were all super generous with their time and pours under the pavilion before general admission began. Really good vibe all day.
