Saisons are the cheater pairing, they go with just about anything and are great during the main course. I drink a lot of funkwerks, they're out of Colorado, but we get them in Iowa.

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't have time to run over to Hudson, but I did go out and grab some lighter, less hoppy, beers.

I did get the hockey box from Summit (I know, 2 of the selections in there are fairly hoppy), and I also picked up some 14° ESB from Bent Paddle and some Copacetic from Utepils. I already have some Breakside Pilsner left in the 'fridge from a recent trip to Oregon, so I may compromise the Midwest theme and bring those out, too. (BTW, it is a very well done pils; try it if you get the chance.)

If it is not obvious, I've never paid much attention to proper food pairing, so we'll see how this goes... and, again, thanks.

PS: I intended to pick of some browns, but I didn't make a list and I forgot. Didn't want to go back... Oh, well... there's always next year.

I like the New Glarus idea! I think that Cranbic or Raspberry Tart are better turkey dinner beers. Save the Belgian Red for the beer float for dessert after that pumpkin pie as an added dessert option.

As a side note to the OP: Any Saison or table beer will pair really well with thanksgiving dinner. Belgian beer styles are so quickly forgotten. St Bernardius Extra 4 is another tremendous dinner beer pairing that will impress beer nerds and also people who are not familiar with craft beers. Remember Belgian beers are very well made complex beers with a fantastic mouthfeel that makes the beers easy to drink and interesting.
