Hmm, did it say something closer to "No Citrus flavoring Added", or "No Artificial Citrus Added"? They list the peel ingredients on their label too, so maybe they are getting at their adding natural peels as opposed to some competitors using citrus flavor/extract/not peels? Maybe that's the dig they're going for? I'm not sure as it doesn't appear to make sense to me otherwise.

I may have misquoted... I think it may have said "infused" rather than "added"? Will have to check next time. In any case the gist of the thing was similar to what I posted originally. Cheers!

Not pathetically bad at all if they're trying to target Millenials....

Ha, I know. I swear that's more or less what it said, "No Citrus..." for sure. I tried to Google it but can't find... it must be brand new. I'm sure it will be corroborated at some point!

As someone who qualifies as a millenial I'm not sure I agree but I suppose its also possible I'm just not stereotypical of my generation.

Saw the billboard on way home, it says:
    NO CITRUS IMPLANTS.
    THIS FLAVOR'S ALL NATURAL.

Ok, I was a bit off, but I think the point remains valid... a dig at GF Sculpin IMO. Laughable of course, although I do agree GF Sculpin is vastly overrated.

ps I took a pic but I can't figure out how to insert it.

And I'll stick to my opinion that it is aimed at Shock Top's primary competitor, Blue Moon.
("Implant" = that orange slice hanging off just about every glass in any BM promo photo.).

Probably AB wouldn't mind if folks also took it as a dig at the obligatory lime wedge stuck into the neck of most every bottle of Corona.

It's aimed at the folks who are going nuts over the Deadpool movie. There's an extremely similar scene that's been featured in the trailers.

I have to go with @jesskidden here, I don't think the person who drinks Shock Top is even aware of GF Sculpin. Before I upgraded I actually would drink both Shock Top and Blue Moon whenever I drank beer and had no knowledge of Sculpin. Also most places have both ST and BM on tap.

The internet in general, Facebook and YouTube are made for time travel, at some point. I wonder how long that ad ran?

Hey I have no idea what the intent was, it was just the first thing that hit me. Keep in mind that this billboard was in San Diego, where Sculpin and GF Sculpin are HUGE: on tap everywhere and prominently displayed in every grocery and liquor store. No biggie, cheers!
