So frustrating, these Texas laws that make things difficult for good craft brew to come in here for festivals like this... and for breweries to properly sell their product from the place of production. There is no logical reason why craft breweries shouldn't be able to sell their beer on the spot, it's ridiculous that they can't!! (Frickin Anheuser DOUCHE screwed that up for us) I wish all of the new craft breweries springing up in Austin and Houston could join forces and take legal action to get some of the laws overturned. I love that Jesterking sued the man. Hopefully the craft beer scene that has exploded in Houston and Austin will help keep these fights against the system happening more regularly. They can't keep this great state down forever!!

Beer festivals on the west coast are even more expensive. I consider $30 max. entry fee tops and it better include a few food tickets otherwise forget it you can get the same beers anywhere.

Makes me question even attending the upcoming local San Antonio Beer Festival.

Sorry to hear about the bad festival experience. It makes me sad to see threads like this.
At least there are still people in the area trying to spread good beer around for the right reasons though.
I hope thirdeye's fest turns out awesome! Call it "The REAL Austin beerfest"
