I’m willing to do this for all threads of all AP recipes I can access. Using search parameters of “Averagely Perfect” in the title returns only 5 pages or results, and the earliest thread is Poll # 23 for the NorthEast IPA (started June 21, 2016). I’m guessing the search function places limits that prevent posts/threads older than “x” from displaying in the results, or (less likely) previous AP threads don't have "Averagely Perfect" in the title. It’s not clear to me if the age restriction (if it exists) can be overcome by a regular member. If someone knows of a search workaround that will return all the AP threads, let me know.
Try searching for each project separately. For example, put "averagely perfect american IPA" (with the double quotes) in the search field, and specify VikeMan in the Posted by Member field. This should cut down on the results significantly.
Seeing as how we ended up with pretty much exactly the recipe I'd have written in the first place I think the Dubbel went really well, but more importantly I thought it was a great learning experience as well (I'd never heard of those liquid sugars before). So that's the great part, and the camaraderie of sharing. Unfortunately I also think that the Dubbel style is well focused as it is, similar to a Czech Pilsner or an English bitter. We've got a lot of styles out there that are a little more free-form and ranging so I'm wondering how "averagely perfect" those can be. I'm looking forward to more, and thanks again to @VikeMan!
The saison process was really fun and I learned a lot along the way. I think that is the main benefit of all of these recipes.
That got me headed in the right direction, thanks. I tweaked the search to "averagely perfect" in the title, by vikeman, and searched the Recipes forum only. That gave me the exact name for all the projects; more "How we got there" next week.
