The beer your significant other drank then tried to hide from you.

Which beer was it? Possibly an extremely limited beer? One you had been cellaring for a certain date? For me it was last night, my last 08' BCBS....Grrrrrrr (especially NOW of all times) then I find the bottle hidden behind some boxes in a cabinet.."Oh what me? Huh?!" Ya that old routine... To say the least, I was VERY upset. I know I am not alone, so...what is your Horror story?!

different kind of horror and anger story here, but slightly related. Ok so my girlfriend is kind of into souts, but HATES bourbon and whiskey. OK so we go to Fullsteam Brewery in Durham. I of course order their Fullsteam lager aged in bourbon barrels, and order her El Toro (an approachable cream ale that I thought she would like). We both take a taste of ours. Her face was one of disgust. I offer her a taste of my bourbon lager, and she steals my glass! She left me with a beer that was ok, and stole the beer that was really good.

All with no communication. Wed also already went to the other 2 breweries in Durham at that point, but thats null and void.

Not so much hid as blatantly drank with no remorse. On multiple occasions I'd come home to two empty bottles sitting on the counter. My wife drank so much 2010 Cherry Adam even though supply on hand was low that we just went ahead and got her a whole 12 pack of the 2012 batch for her personal consumption.

She didn't try to hide it from me and it wasn't beer but I was still pissed... Had 3 bottles of Didier Dagueneau's Les Jardins de Babylone. For folks that aren't also into wine; Didier Dagueneau was a masterful wine maker. He died in a plane crash in 2008. This wine was extremely difficult for me to track down. Not sure of the number but a very small number of cases were imported into the US.

Her reply- "I thought it would be a good one to grab because you had 3". In her defense she did save a glass for me. It was sublime. Since then I started a labeling system in the cellar. For me (when I'm a little buzzed) and her (for obvious reasons); green sticker on the end of the bottle means it's fair game, yellow sticker is caution (ask me first), and red is not to be touched by her at all. We've also started stocking up on bottles that she knows she enjoys.

I give this 4 posts after mine until it becomes a conversation about how "It's just beer, Man. Let it go!" of some form or another comes into play.
That being said, My lady absolutely hates drinking any of my beer and sticks to mixed drinks so I'm a lucky man!

I actually did need to take that approach somewhat because I got way too upset over something that didn't really matter. I'm also lucky/unlucky that my lady doesn't like beer. I often wish she did though so we could both get excited about a vacation to a beer destination, split special bottles together, etc.

Any time I buy ice cream my g/f eats it. She doesn't really like beer, so that's all I got. She eats the ice cream because she's all health concious and won't buy it herself, but the second I buy it, it's all game on. Needless to say, I just don't buy ice cream much anymore.

I haven't had this happen to me yet, but my wife has been liking more and more of the barrel aged offerings that I've had her try. Something tells me things are about to get more expensive . . .

They never tried hiding it in my house. If they didn't like it I would come home to find it sitting on the coffee table utterly lifeless. I would panic trying to save it as if was a new born trapped in a car in the summer time rushing it back to the fridge hoping that there will be a little life left in it to enjoy.

I think I struck gold with mine, She's more than happy to surprise me with bottles (Utopias last week) and randomly take side trips to breweries and festivals with me. She actually made me promise I wouldn't hit up breweries without her!

There is nothing thin about this veil!

I had about a quarter of a bottle of Sucaba (maybe less) that was leftover from earlier in the night...I poured it into a snifter to warm up a bit and left it on the counter....she drain poured it. She also slept on the porch that night.

My significant other and I tend to not like the same things so it's generally not an issue. She asks what she should drink before she gets one anyway.

My wife doesn't drink. Period. She will however request the first sip of any beer I open.

Never happened, because she knows better. In fact, last week I came home to 2 pack of BCBS and a Bolt Cutter waiting for me on the table. After I cleaned up my jizz stained drawers I thanked her.
