I am doing a mini beer tour of Asheville on Monday. For those who have been there, which are my can't miss breweries?

^^^ Definitely Wicked Weed for amazing beer, awesome food, and an overall great environment. Plan on spending a full afternoon there if you can and you will not regret it.

Down the road from Wicked Weed (which I'll add to the group who say this is your first priority - the downstairs space is absolutely top notch, and the food upstairs make it a place you could easily spend the afternoon exploring), is an excellent bottle shop called Appalachian Vintner. Recommend a visit there to grab NC brews that might not be in easy reach if you are staying in Asheville, e.g., Pisgah, NoDa (with its Hop, Drop n' Roll).

If you have more than one day:
Day 1 - Start at Wicked Weed, over to the Wedge, then end at the Bywater in the afternoon if its nice out (amazing bar on the river with outdoor grills. Its byo food and charcoal).
Day 2 - Start at Pisgah in Black Mtn, Over to Highland brewing co., end at Appalachian Vintner in Asheville (they have a great bar in their bottle shop with some rare beers on tap).

    If you have one day:
Stay in Asheville and try to hit Wedge, Wicked Weed, Bywater, and Appalachian Vintner.

Check establishment times, most open around 2 or three depending on the day.

Burial is a MUST try. Proverbial hole in the wall--not sure of days open.
A growler of Wicked Weed Freak is the bomb.

Thank you! I had a few of them marked but not Wicked Weed somehow.

Burial is not open on Monday's, or Tuesday or Wednesday's, in fact nor Sundays. It is a Thur.-Sat. place.

Southeastern forums is a must read for you, many threads on places to go in Asheville. You can spend a day on the South Slope visiting, Wicked Weed, Green Man, Hi Wire, One World, Asheville Pizza and Brewing, plus Twin Leaf, then if you're still standing hit a bar like Thirsty Monk. All within walking distance of one another, or start by walking end by crawling distance.

Short and simple WW has the best beer, I like Barleys for their build your own pizza by the slice and a nice French Broad ipa. On a Short day that's about it. I'd add 12, bones too , great BBQ/ collards / Shive ipa.

You could do a lot worse for yourself than the following itinerary:
    - Wicked Weed for lunch
    - Green Man
    - Twin Leaf
    - Asheville Brewing Company
    - Hi-Wire if you really want (I'm not a fan, but its right there)
    - Thirsty Monk
    - Barley's for dinner

That entire trip is right at 1.5 miles, very easily walkable across a day. I would definitely include Burial normally, but as noted above they are closed on Monday. Everywhere above is open on Monday by 3 or 4 (WW opens at lunch). Barley's and Thirsty Monk are open earlier as well so you could easily switch up the direction you walk, but WW can be a bit packed for dinner (though probably not on a Monday) and isn't packed at lunch, and Barley's I don't think I've ever seen packed, especially during the week.

I liked Asheville Brewing the best. Beer was good, workers were cool, they had football on and no dudes wearing skinny jeans. My kind of place.

There are a large number of men on this site that care far too much about what type of clothing other men wear.

Glad you liked ABC though. I like their Ninja Porter a lot, but they don't generally have anything on draft that we don't get here in cans, so we rarely stop there when in Aville.

Hey don't mean to hijack this thread but didn't want to start a new one for a off question. I am staying in bryson/ Asheville the second week of October and am looking for a super fancy restaurant. Any suggestions?

Define "super fancy"... There are several that come to mind, Vue 1913 up at the Grove Park Inn, Plant on Merrimon Avenue has been getting some great reviews, but warning it is a Vegetarian place. FiG is nice dining spot down in Biltmore Village, also in the same area is Ruth Chris Steak House. On the grounds of the Biltmore Estate you can dine at the, well, Dinning Room located at the Inn on Biltmore Estate (if day time, hit the Bistro on the grounds of the Estate outside, not inside). French restaurant down town called Bouchon is one of my favorites, the owner is French. If you like Indian Food, Mela's right near Bouchon is terrific but I prefer it for lunch with their buffet. Down across from Wicked Weed is Chestnut and up the street from Wicked Weed look for Blackbird. If you like Tapas, hit Curate or Zambra (my preference, wife likes Curate better).

Define Super Fancy and maybe I can pair this down for you... There are others but again define Super Fancy.
