Relatively new spot that opened up in the last month or so. Incredible pie with a solid draft list. Pro-Pig it is not for beer, but for grub it is top notch. To Stephanie and her husband and partner, my hats off to you. Great venue, incredible hand made pine bar, good beer, and run by great people. Check it out if you are in the area!

Yaaay! Rarely ate at the place that used to be in there - glad this one is adding another asset to Waterbury - the Walk-Around Beer Town!

Pretty shitty way that the old place got kicked out, but it is a decent place. I'd choose Blackback over it now that it has Mad Taco. Mmmm big fatty.

She didn't get kicked out - she has teamed up with the guys at Cider House a couple miles west on Route 2 - they've been in the process of a re-opening for awhile. Irene hit them real hard last year.

I heard that the owner of the building unexpectedly did not allow her to renew the lease (to allow his friend to open the new place). Cider house asked her to come work for them, since she had no place to go.

Ew, that sucks. Nice how the ugly stuff doesn't get published. Glad she found a gig under the circumstances.

Mmm, that was one of the 7 issues of Seven Days that sat unread this summer/fall when I was off galavanting every weekend. Thanks very much for the link.

Unofficial word is that the folks from blue stone wanted that spot bad, and gave the landlord a very generous offer as to their monthly rent. When the lady from Marsala Salsa couldn't match it, she got the boot.

Who knows how true that is. Just relaying information from a little birdy.
