Well that proved to be a more entertaining read then I was expecting.

Bell's super secret bottle releases? I live in Kalamazoo, and you know how I found out when they released Black Note back in January? When Bell's themselves freaking tweeted about it the morning they put it in their coolers.

 

Lol. I bet certain bar owners are fine with this statement when there is no hop venom for them

 

Imagine that. A brewery wanting people to come to their establishment to buy and drink their beer. From another state even!

 

My point was that while Bell's doesn't plan out and make a big deal prior to their special releases like a place like Founders does, it's not a secret when they do release something special, and no one is hiding anything. All it takes is paying the slightest bit of attention.

 

Right. That's what most breweries do around here too. And in my opinion, it's the best way to handle a release.
1. Let people know
2. Don't make a big deal about it
3. Profit
That's what surprised me when Lansman started talking about this Michigan BA uber-secret society on p1. I just don't understand how that would work as a practical matter.

If I were a Great Lakes BA I think I would die from exhaustion.

 

Luckily for me I'm on the south end where beer entitlement on all levels is pretty much non existent.

 

This. Getting multiple pours at both the Burgundian and Brouwer's was easy, with no wait, even though Brouwer's was busy. Looking forward to many more tappings around the area in the future, especially if they are as awesome as these were.

 

Do you guys know if XII is being distributed outside of Washington State?

 

My understanding is that it's going only to Bruery RS members (or whatever "society" arrangement they have going on) and to Bottleworks. There's another thread in the Releases forum about it.

4 to 5 cases left as of about an hour ago.

 

I'm feeling sick to my stomach. Distracted by Portland missed out on the release.
I still have an original in my cellar. Anyone up for a vertical bottle share?
And (wishful thinking) if anyone wants to part with an "extra", maybe a flat HotD '13 BFftW, a FftW and a Cluster F#ck for a XII?

 

Stopped by today for a Propolis bottle and some BWXII on tap. Bottles LOOOONG gone.

 

Its my understanding 5 cases were mis-picked and sent to Brouwer's instead of BW. So, still a possibility of more landing soon.
