Sounds like a scene from a terrible TLC reality show. Would watch.
Local Churchill's drinking buddy/RS member is designated as my trustee and swung by to pick up our bottles yesterday as he's often in the area for work.

If anybody wants to lug some beers to Eastern Massachusetts, south of Boston, I'll host a tasting and share my bottle.

The taste is excellent. The hazelnut just works. This year's BT has a bit more burn than last and the hazelnut mellows it nicely. Tried it at the BT release. Picked my bottle up last week and didn't realize the wax smelled of hazelnut. Now I gotta go check that out.

Opened my bottle on New Years and I agree that the hazelnut works very well in this beer. Just a slight nuttiness to it and finishes with a big chocolate and bourbon flavor. Defintely cuts some of the upfront heat of fresh Black Tuesday which made it very drinkable.

I have yet to open my bottle, but I have had it poured three times and it gets Better and BETTER every time I have it. Just like watching the Exorcist.

If you all want a beautiful beer, may I suggest making a melange of Chocolate Rain and Grey Monday? I mixed 2010 Chocolate Rain with 2012 Grey Monday at the last 2012 RS party and my god, the best thing ever...

very psyched for this... just like when they bottled chocolate rain.

BT being my very favorite beer, these one-variation-a-year releases are amazing!! thanks bruery!

(on a sad note, its too hard to trade these "whales", i just end up drinking them. curse you valuable beers that actually taste amazing, it wouold be great trade bait if it tasted terible!)

Good to see The Bruery actually used real hazelnuts and didn't go the cheap artificallly flavored route like Founders did with FMB.

I remember talking to Tyler at the Melange 3 dinner and he said it cost quite a bit for the Hazelnut wax. It will be interesting to see if they do something like that again...

I know this is a year old thread but has anyone noticed a difference in wax .... left is 9/23/13 bottling (flat grey wax) and right is 9/25/13 bottling (grey with pearl fleck wax) ....
