I would have to say my 2008 Surly Darkness and Three Floyds Murder'd Out Stout.
Bourbon County Rare
5 year vertical of BCBS
5 year Vertical of Dark Lord
4 year vertical of Abyss
Every year of Parabola and Sucuba(abacus)
Is that too many to list? guess start at top and work down
Aw no. I'm going to have to change my pants.
Thomas Hardy 1993, 96, 97, 98, 99
Don't trade it, better to bring it to DLD and bottle share with a group. You'll get to try way more beer that way!
In all my time on BA and all the cellar pics I've ever seen, hand on heart this is the only one I've ever been jealous of. For those about to drink Courage Russian Imperial Stout, I salute you.
I'm guessing if you look on the bottle it might have the correct spelling
In terms of stuff I'm looking forward to drinking eventually:
'07 Westy 12
'11 Adam from the Wood
'08 Thomas Hardy
My anti-crown jewel - 08 DFH Fort. I really, really don't want to drink it, so it's going to continue to sit for a while. Maybe it'll be drinkable after another 5 years.
I'm still a rookie, With that said...
Founders Curmudgeon's Better Half without floaties
Saint Arnold Divine Reserve 1 through 12 (soon to be 13)
right now id say my bottles of 05 Lamvinus
I guess it would have to be the Xyauyu Barrel 2008 I smuggled back from Italy in December. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't also snag a Fume, although space was limited.
Runners up would have to be the 3 first run Uncle Jacob's Stouts, along with some 3F Oude Gueze bottled in 2010 and the 2 Firestone Walker 14s.
Ive only been cellaring for a bit over 2 years, and most of it is stuff that will be impressive years to come. But other than the DFH WWS 2008-2012 bottles, Ive got 2 Bruery Partridges, 2 Bruery Turtle Doves (and 1 BA version), and 4-6 of the rest. Pretty stoked to put those all together in 2019.
You should open this next to a 3000! Hmmm...
I have a couple decent, rare bottles in the cellar, but I have to say my crown jewel is:
Brandy Vanilla Dark Lord
Not only is it rare and a whale, but I hold it in even higher value because I actually picked it up myself at DLD because I thought it sounded great, even though people were all buzzing about the PvW and de Muerte at the time.
Malvasia Rosso for now but I have a framboos coming in this week
I opened most of my 'crown jewels' at tastings over the winter so now it's probably Peconic or Splinter Blue.
I too openned my gems back when the world was supposed to end.
I have a couple of Loon verticals left, a Zeke's, a few older RR 750's.
I am proud to say that I have an original OC Russian Imperial Stout Bomber
Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Lord '11. I didn't trade for it and I didn't pay out my ass for it. (Not counting the $50 price tag @ DLD.) I just got one. Scratched off a winner and walked out with it. It's the only year out of 4 I was fast enough to get the tickets online. I'm very proud to have that one after seeing what others have paid/traded for all the different Dark Lord Barrel Aged variants. I have also turned down quite a few dollars from a friend of mine who is an absolute trade/hoarding junky. I plan to crack it when the Brewers win the World Series. Stop laughing.
It's amazing how feeling like you actually EARNED that beer can increase your value of it, right? I feel the same about my Brandy Vanilla DL.... I've been offered some seriously crazy stuff for it, including a four-figure cash offer at one point (Not sure if they would have paid up if I said yes, I couldn't tell if they were extremely serious... And I declined anyways.) buy it's just something that I'm going to hold onto until I drink it.
You said it man.
1994 rose de Gambrinus.
What is a Loon?
Just had a 1993 Rose de Gambrinus this past weekend. Absolutely delicious. Stunned how different it is.
I have a feeling I know who opened that bottle for you...
I just started acquiring and cellaring tougher beers, so I'll go with my 2012 Black Tuesday.
King Henry and 2009 Utopias
Or this little fella
Angel's Share. Simply because I had one the day after my little girl was born and this one is waiting for her sister to arrive in 7 weeks. Makes it priceless to me.
1 2011 168 bottle count release of Bourbon Barrel Aged Hunahpu. I will finally get to it for my 30th come October.
I think i bought it in 2010 at the brewery. Sorry for the fuzzy, its from beer camp #6. This & a 2011 Parabola
Armand & Tommy at this point. So many gems have left recently.
King Henry, Rare, Darkness '11, HF Edith, Hunaphu's, Allagash Coolships (cerise and resurgam)
Is BAVDL a gem? I can't tell.
King Henry x2
2008 Xyauyu Fume
2009 Mirror Mirror
2011 Black Tuesday
^^^ Beer #3 tastes like cigarette butts and burnt licorice
Drank like a 3-4 year old bottle of Victory at Sea and it was the best thing I have ever had.
Nothing too rare but have a couple good verticals going
07-10,12,13 Stone IRS
08-10 The Abyss
1972 Felix Kriek Speciaal 75cl
2004 (first batch) Cantillon Cuvee Des Champions
