The unexpected surprise of a new one on draft that knocks your socks off.

 

I love when you give a friend or co-worker some beer, and they take the time to try it, and they take the time give you feedback that indicates (whether they liked it or not) that they are interested in more of it.

I truly enjoy that weekend morning imperial stout that you slowly sip as you relax and wait to see what the day will bring you.

 

A balanced IPA that showcases both malt and hops.
Buying a random beer you've never heard of and having it turn out to be great
A nice and tasteful bottle/can design - Odells and Sierra Nevada come to mind
When friends refer to you as "the beer guy"

 

I'm pretty old, but not too old to remember college! Bet you're right.

I love the sound of a can being opened.

I love sharing great beer with friends, or surprising them with something special with them not expecting it. I like that more than being surprised myself.

 

Piney, funky, leathery, nasty, earthy, flowery, disgustingly beautiful beers.

Thick veils of lacing.

The warm and enticing soft glow of an unfiltered beer.

Having that beer that just quiets your mind and calmly brings you to the present moment.

 

I love introducing friends and family to great beers.

 

I love:
- Getting together with friends and trying new beers we have not tasted.
- The aroma of a good beer before I even take a sip (YUM).
- Being in New England with so many different beer choices around me to sample from.
- A good Beer that complements a good meal.
- Days that I don't have to get up to go to work (weekends) when I have had too many good beers the night before and I can sleep in.

 

- The word "brew"
- Introducing someone to a new beer (either they love it and I feel great about myself, or they hate it and I get a good laugh out of their facial expression)
- Browsing bottle shops
- Trying new beer, again whether good or bad
- Being able to answer (most) of my friend's questions about beer, or tell them interesting trivia about what they're drinking
- Being known as the "beer person"

 

I love the smell of a great big Dipa. I popped a Waldo last night and you can easily smell it from 3 feet away. I can get a whiff of a beer and generally know I'll like it before my first sip.

Love the way a nice Pils looks in a Pils glass, nice creamy head maybe 2 fingers deep and it stays put to the bottom. My favorite style beer glass by far.

Love the roasted coffee nose on a freah KBS.

Love an ice cold AAL on a stinking hot summer day and drain it in 2 or 3 pulls.

I love the St Pauli Girl what can I say.

 

I love when my wife rinses a can or bottle out right after I pour it because "it stinks the kitchen up"
..having a new beer I've never had before and loving it.
..the fact that I would rather have 1 good beer then gulp a bunch of watery tasteless lager.

 

extremely high on my list of things to do every day.

 

-- Nucleated glasses and the subsequent bubble rising it creates
-- When a new (to you) brewery gets distributed to your location and you get to explore their entire lineup
-- Setting aside a six pack of whatever for the game you are waiting to watch on a Saturday night (even if DVRd)

 

I love everything craft beer. I love the fact that I am sitting here staring at a thread about things you great fellow BA's love about beer while a great tasting IPA sits in front of the screen and I look at its hazy golden goodness and occasionally sample from its contents while reading your posts. Life is good!

 

I love finding a beer that isn't listed on BA that turns out to be something very special.

I love a beer that is difficult to define, in a word, complex. These beers often cross many style descriptions and always make me question what I'm tasting.

I love finding a beer that my beer friends haven't had AND love so much they later seek it out.

I love rooting for the underdog little brewers who make great beers that are only available to those who are very aware.

I love finding an excellent beer from a brewer that is much maligned for being too big or traditional.

 

I used to love that sound too. Then my mother-in-law fell on hard times that required her moving in with us, and now I hear that sound 15 times a day at all hours of the day and night. I hate that sound now.

 

Beer related only? Damn!
I love:
A good 2IPA (having a Brooklyn Blast right now!)
Craft brews with friends
Finding a 'whale' on the shelf
Discovering new craft brew friends and associates

 

(apart from beer in general):

- I love that last FBS I've been saving for ages because we've run out of stock in the entire country of Australia
- I love trying a crazy new style of beer, last time it was Gose, I'm guessing next it will be Super Elephant Xtreme ale
- I love when sniffing an IPA is like sniffing the lastest Calvin Klein cologne, a very hoppy new eau de toilette called 'He Hops'
- I love discovering yet another craft bar has opened up, but wait this one is better because it has a pinball table!
- I love creating my own crazy beer flight starting with an Imperial Stout and ending up at a Witbier (going the wrong way!)
- I love when my beer choice matches the random dish I just sat down to eat 'beef vindaloo and doppelbock, why thank you'
- Most of all I love [drumroll]: Accidentally spilling beer in to my mouth and realising - that was no accident!
