Earlier this week someone was "dreamin" about a beer from PA... He is going to want to check his porch most likely tomorrow

It's about a 2 hour ride, but it's an easy one for me.

@jawas is about another hour and a half further, so I doubt he'd be in.

aaawwwwwww MAN! I coulda had those walezbro? Dammit!! I better update my wants..... :slight_frown:
If this means what I think it does, I hope FIBs don't mind a second helping of "beans"

Yeah @devilfluff is on the NJ side of the river in suburban Philly, whereas @jawas is essentially on the beach. I'm a bit closer than either of them, but having just been out there I don't know I'd be able to justify a 2nd trip so soon. Instead, I vote for @_RL_ to make a 3-day trip out of it and swing through Philly "on the way" to Harrisburg (out of the way though it likely would be)

I alluded to it before in a couple of my hints, but I live in NC and work in Minneapolis... which does indeed lead to an interesting definition of local for me

Hell of a commute, but it's awesome that you have two completely disparate distro's each with awesome locals at your disposal. I consider myself lucky just to have Philly's distro at my disposal by itself.

The Sexual Chocolate is actually BBA Sexual Chocolate. I have both normal and BBA in my cellar at the moment, but have more of the bourbon barrel aged at the moment (since the release was somewhat recent) so figured I'd toss that one in

Olde Hickory is my actual local brewery. It's 10 minutes away from my house and I know the brewer decently. They have a handful of pretty awesome beers and a lot of crap ones that are their backbone for most of the year (which is probably pretty common for these kinds of breweries). Event Horizon is a barrel-aged stout and Lindley Park is a barrel-aged stout with honey and raspberries (there are a handful of other limited releases they do too). The Event Horizon and Irish Walker both are last year's. Lindley Park is actually releasing next year and Event Horizon will be in a couple weeks but I thought that was too much of a wait. And this year they're doing a new beer (their first actual brewery-release beer) that's a barrel-aged barleywine called Omega Point, some of it having been aged for seven years. Can't wait

Golden Nugget I picked up when I was in Wisconsin (which thankfully is only 30 minutes from Minneapolis) and was the consolation prize for them not having PseudoSue the day I was there. It's a pretty decent consolation prize as I really enjoyed Goldden Nugget (I already drank the two other bottles I brought back two weeks ago...).

The Highland 20th Anniversary Saison... honestly I'm not a fan of it. But a lot of people in my area like it and Highland is the largest brewery by volume (not counting the new kids on the block that just moved in) so figured I'd toss something in the box. Too bad one of the few beers of theirs that I legitimately do like that they bottle (Cold Mountain) isn't out until later this year.

It has its perks  It does mean I'm bringing beer home in a suitcase (hey, another beer that sounds interesting, let me pick it up!) pretty often

I've only had a 3-oz snifter of it on the day of the release so don't have a lot to base an opinion on. I will say that you really don't notice the alcohol all that much as you'd expect considering its 15%. It's tough to compare it to anything as its a stout and barrel aged and soured all at once and each of those components come through in the final beer, and they all seemed to be married up quite well. I have two bottles left (I split my 6 bottles with another guy), so I'll probably have one soon and another in a year. On another hand, a lot of my friends have bottles and a good number of them got 6, so maybe I can talk them into opening one at a bottle share

A couple of my friends were at the Halloween party the day before release (when you could also pick up the beer if you had tickets) and they had a couple different versions, one with coffee and another with a different souring agent added. Heard those were also pretty awesome.
