It worked out perfectly. I had to pick someone up from JFK so I swung by OH for some growler fills for extras. Apparently they don't accept the type of growler I brought, but had these bottles left. Glad you enjoyed it!

 

Day 5 brought what appeared to be an Avery offering, based on the gold foil and 12oz bottle.


Poured incredibly dark. Tasted fantastic, almost like some coffee but I think it is from the barrel. This beer is incredible and my only thought was Tweak, but I know the good Doc wouldn't send a Tweak.

Reveal:


I've never heard of this beer, Black Eye, from 2014 but wow, it is great. It has held up to the test of time. The 18.82% probably helped there. I'm sad the Summer Sixer is ending, but can't wait to see what @Kramerbarthomer has left for me. Cheers Mike!

 

Well here we are at Day 6, I'm sorry to see this end.
Day 6 brought a plane gold cap so no help there. Just a hint of gushing when the bottle was opened. Pour a golden orange color lots of oak in the nose I don't get any fruit either in the nose or from the taste. Nice oaky taste tart and fairly dry.

The more I drink the better it gets but still no idea what this is some sort of BA Saison is about all I get. Well on to the reveal.

And it is Pinot de la Casa from Casa Agria another great beer from my sender @Dave_Treat

This is one of my favorite beers of all time and so happy to revisit it (only time I had it before was at a large share in 2016), it lives up to my memory.

Day 6 brings another beer/brewery I've never had before. Capped and a cork? That's something I've never seen before.



It's obviously a Cantillon beer because it says it on the cork (I'm a detective in my spare time), but I would have no clue as to what it could be. Real sour/funky with no hints of fruit. Very interesting and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it.



Cantillon - Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio. Not just a new brewery, but a style I've never tried before. As it's warmed up, I've liked it a lot more. Super excited to have this and it's real refreshing after doing a bunch of yard work this morning.

No clue where this is from, it's a plain silver cap with wax. Tastes like a tart saison but definitely #teamstonefruit

 

Onto Day 6 from @corm44, which brings a new style (for this round) to the mix: a stout!


Got some citrus on the nose and the taste has a creamy vanilla to it.

Those saison caps a pretty tough.

 

Day 6 is here. HBD Merica. All the fruits in this one. Yummy.
