Only $20 for a bottle of Surly Darkness.
$125 for a bottle of Tactical Nuclear Penguin. Not the first time this question has come up and not the first time I've admitted to over paying. (Hey, it was hard to get and with my job at the time, it wasn't a stretch. Now?? Teenage kids that cost more => big beer purchases => .)
Single 12oz Avery beers, e.g. Tweak, Memphis, and Uncle Jacob's, are all expensive. Regarding others that surpass $1-$2 an ounce per bottle, you guys are getting ripped off. Save us all, and don't pay the price...
That's a bargain.
I love any posting here that's been $20 and under. I really feel that I've spoiled myself too much when I only start to really pay attention when the cost is $30 or more.
Utopias '13, $199. Worth it.
$120 for a 2003 Utopias, which is a relative deal having seen the mark-ups in more recent years.
The most I've ever spent on a single beer was $12 for a bottle of La Trappe Tripel at my local liquor store. It was an excellent Tripel (one of my favourites) and definitely worth the money. That price is nothing compared to what some of you guys/gals have posted, but it's my two-cents on the topic
Cost is currently $140 so you made out like a bandit.
25 bucks for lawsons maple tripple. I think it was 16 ozs
this is my exact answer as well...very boozy
$8.50 for a oude boon gueze 2011/2012 was delicious. also got a xocoveza there for $8 on "clearance" lol
Well, that was circa 2005. Every bottle I've seen since then has been $190-240.
$25 for an Eclipse because I never thought that was something I'd run across again in this region. If anything it more or less cemented my belief that no beer, no matter how good, is worth such a price so I'm glad I paid for it for the lesson if anything.
Never had Utopias but aged a bottle of The Abyss for 3 and a half years. I'm 38. Everyone in life has a different path. That thing cost me $9 when I bought it but I'd pay $100 to have that moment of cutting the wax and popping the top on a constant loop.
Cable Car 2010 - $90 for onsite at Toro SD
I have back to 2010 on hand right now. We did the vertical in December of 2012- its on my avatar. The 2006 blew everything else away.
Most for a beer on tap was bourbon county stout at Chicago Midway Airport- $19.65 for a 9 oz pour.
We agreed to pay $100 a piece. I knew it was high but he sent pics from the sidewalk and it was snowing that night.
$27 on a fresh bottle of Pliny that had arrived in Belgium that day to take back to the UK.
Not true actually. It's been on sale in many different shops here at varying times.
$50 on a Dark Lord variant
$8.49 for a bottle of DFH 120. I bought 7 of them over the course of 2 weeks. $19 for BC backyard rye, and the same for a couple Surly bombers. The only one I would do that again for is the 120.
I spent $20 for a 12 oz. bottle of DFH 120 Minute IPA that was aged several years.
89€ for a Chocolate Rain, back when a Euro was worth $1.40. Worth it.
$41 for Veritas 015
$150 for a bottle of 1869 Bass Ratcliffe Ale.
Not hip or trendy but 15 dollars on New Belgium LOF La Folie. Not a huge spender on single bottles.
Goose Island Gillian was $27. I had a gift card. Otherwise, I would not have purchased it. Yazoo's Funky Blue Persuasion is a close second at $25!
I had never heard of this beer, but I saw a single bottle on the shelf at $9.99 and thought that it seemed like a pretty good deal for a BBA Barleywine in a 750ml. Turns out I was right.
Let it sit for a year, nothing special initially but I've heard from many it gets better
I'm sorry, what?? $600 for Utopias? That bottle is $180 down the street from me. Am I missing something there?
$46 Fou Foune. Girlfriends birthday, certainly worth it.
Wicked Weed Red Angel. Not the most expensive overall, but most in price per ounce. $20 for 500ml
Price gouging online, or at least trying to. The link was a show and tell... for "Samichlaus". That "Utopias" was in the page was an added bonus. But even $180.00 a bottle for "Utopias" is so out of my league.
The post was about big bucks for beer, so I thought throwing the link into the mix would be fruitful for the post.
I have no idea how many bottles of Utopias have sold at that price, if any.
$75 for a bottle of Iris. First chance I had to grab one so I did.
Like many others, $30 each on Eclipse. One Java and one Buffalo Trace.
$14.99 for Mirror Mirror....Yes I'm cheap. Can't bring myself to pay more for a beer when there are so many cheaper ones out there that I have yet to try.
$22 for Coop Bourbon Barrel Aged Rye Wine
$40 '14 FFF BA Behemoth bomber
$15 8oz pour at local bar of BCBS
