The new HT's are now open and I'm impressed with beer in these new stores. SN Hoptimum, Ska Modus Hoperandi, Dales, Old Chub, Finest Kind, 60 and 90 minute, Sweetwater, Bell's Two Hearted, Duck Rabbit stuff, ST 2XIPA and PA, Great Lakes, Unearthly Bombers, Stone AB bomers, plus lots more....

Still hoping to see Old Meck in the new stores...more and more the HT in Matthews is OUT when I drive over there....but really happy to see such good beers right down the street!

I was actually presently surprised when I walked into Food Lion in Chapel Hill the other day. I mean, the store is awful, but they had a nice selection of locals + Two Hearted + Stone + even Sweetwater and Terrapin!

It would be helpful if you put your location, preferably in the title but at least somewhere in the post itself.

Most Harris-Teeters around Charlotte have decent selections, but some -- like SouthPark and Cotswald -- are even better than others. A few weeks back, the SouthPark store had several cases of Dogfish Positive Contact.

Olde Meck is on the way! We are adding stores as fast as we responsibly (i.e. keeping up with demand and not disappointing customers) can.

My location is the Idlewild location in Matthews near 485...but as the title says all the old Lowes locations have the same template. I need to take a screen shot next time...very nice.

And for Food Lion, my local one now has Sweetwater IPA, most SA products, SN Torpedo, SN PA, and a few more but may behind HT.

    Yea beer!!

I've surmised it by now, but I was kind of referring to what state you are in. I have no frame of reference for Matthews, Idlewild, or even 485 unless I want to scan a map randomly. You do realize this forum covers 6 states don't you?

jmw, he is in NC in the Charlotte area. I was wondering the same thing, until later posts referring to places I am familiar with.

Yea, sorry...all you have to do is click my screen name and see I'm in Charlotte, NC...but I posted this under the assumption Lowe's Food Stores were only in NC and HT bought them out, but hey, sorry for the confusion.

This thread is reference to the new HT's in the Old Lowe's Food locations in the Charlotte NC area.

HT has stepped up there beer selection since taking over those Lowes Foods locations and I frequent the same one on Idlewild. As I side note, my neighbor was just telling me this week that Matthews is getting a new craft beer store soon. Looking forward to that if true. No more driving all the way in to Brawleys or Salud.

They're going to basically try to create a Total Wine competitor, including selling kegs at cost.

And food pairings with beer & wine. That's fantastic news! Hope to see one in the triad.

Additional great news in that article is that Publix is coming soon!

They are also working on stepping up their beer collection, although it appears to be happening only sporadically.

Hopefully they'll bring beer from their home state!
